Moon Phase reports that Tales of Vesperia, the most recent addition to the Tales RPG franchise, is being developed into a feature-length anime film. Woot! Kadokawa Pictures is producing the film, although it doesn't note who's doing the animation-- maybe Production I.G, since they did the anime cutscenes for the original game?

Anyway, Kanta Kamei will be helming the flick-- it's his directorial debut, although he was animation director for Digimon: Diaboromon Strikes Back and did key animation for a number of other works as well...including Kadokawa's The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, which was animated by Madhouse. (Maybe Kamei is something of a rising star for Kadokawa?)

The only other credit we have for the flick is a single voice, Kousuke Toriumi, who also voiced the lead character (Yuri Lowell) in the game.
