Known better as Jumbo, Takeda Takashi is the best friend of Yotsuba's father, Koiwai and one of the most prominent members of Yotsubato's recurring cast.
Jumbo's outgoing and enthusiastic nature often leads him to accompany and aid Yotsuba and her father on their adventures, or initiate activities himself. He can also be fairly spontaneous nature, having taken Yotsuba and her neighbors on trips including fishing and star-gazing after as little as a few off-hand comments. Jumbo is quite strongly attracted to Yotsuba's neighbor, Asagi, and tries to use Yotsuba's bond with her to try and get closer, but this never works out for him. It also led him into an unusual rivalry with Miura (a friend of Asagi's youngest sister) when he insulted her while expressing his disappointment over his latest plan failing.
