Asuna almost got free only to be stopped by tentacles. The feeling was icky and made me cringe more than Silica's episode which is more humorous and carefree.

Kirito is too much of a Gary Stu with his illusion magic when he assumes the form of the Blue Eyed Demon. In episode 22, he got too cocky when he tried to go solo.

Lot of fans hate Suguha for being selfish. I don't think she is. Unlike the other girls who are passive, Suguha struggles to bury her feelings for Kirito knowing that Kirito loves Asuna. When she finds Kirito is her cousin, her heart is torn apart.

Episode 22's animation was stellar. Love the guardians and their fight.

LOL XD

Wow episode 22 was one of the best eps of this series... I'm not gonna lie.

Honestly I feel so bad for Sugu, but I also admire the fact that she had it in her to tell Kirito everything (lol more like scream it out XD). What I really liked about this episode is how realistic they conveyed the emotional roller-coaster that girls go through with a heartbreak. First its just being all sad and mopey, then you get into the 'frustrated stage' where you just scream it all out the way Sugu did XD I'm intrigued to see how Kirito is going to react after all this lol. I also wonder how Sugu will face Kirito....its not like confessing to a classmate where you can just avoid them afterwards...Sugu lives with Kirito. I'll have to wait and see how everything will play out XD

I was under the assumption, that she knew it was her brother the entire time.

Me, too because of the scene where Suguha hesitated to knock on Kirito's door.

@AnimeReviewDaily: @UsachanMaN:

I feel bad for Sugu, too. This arc is so weird. I feel more sympathetic towards Sugu than Asuna since the anime rushed Kirito and Asuna's relationship to the point it felt so superficial. Little Yui tell Kirito to not go cheating with other girls. Poor Kirito, he had to be so oblivious.

I'm glad to see you guys in the discussion. It felt so lonely here.

So... are you guys in favor of Sugu and Kirito?

Oh, I almost forgot to post this naughty pics in my other post. I swear the creator loves abusing his female characters and may have a tentacle fetish.

Post by Supreme Marvel (5,138 posts) See mini bio Level 12

I agree, that's the only flaw I saw in this animé. The relationship was rushed for sure. I've had to explain that to my friend before watching it. Otherwise he might be put off it if everything was going to be rushed.

I'm more in favour of Kirito and Asuna.

Also, Kirito's name in the game is Kirito, right? How was that not a hammer on the head?

@takashichea:

I agree with you regarding how rushed Asuna and Kirito's relationship was

To be honest I'm kinda torn lol. I guess I just feel so bad for Sugu for being broken hearted by Kirito two times :( I guess out of sympathy I'd like Sugu and Kirito to be together. However, considering that Asuna and Kirito's mutual feelings for one another, I guess it'd be natural for them to end up together. Besides, I find it cute that Kirito would go to such extent to find/rescue Asuna.

It would be interesting if suddenly it is revealed that Kirito once had feelings for Sugu O.O Now that would be a neat plot twist XD It would make this situation even stickier XD

@Supreme Marvel:

Actually, Kirito's real name is Kazuto Kirigaya while Kirito is just a username he uses in SAO and ALF.

@UsachanMaN:

Oh man, I would love to see that plot twist. I wonder what would Asuna say. Yui would be like: I told you daddy or something sassy.

@takashichea: Now it makes sense.

@takashichea: It sure would spice up the plot! XD We'll have to wait and see :P

Honestly, after what happened in the last episode with Suguha after she found out that Kirito was Kazuto, made me not like her so much. Sure it is understandable that she feels this way but still the way she snapped at Kirito was unjustified. Kirito was clear with her from the beginning. He never gave her any hopes that something might happen between them in the RL world or even as Kirito in ALO. Suguha is to blame here really imo. Also the fact that Suguha has these feelings for Kirito is creepy to say the least. And to think that at some point, she thought that he was her brother. And while I agree that the Kirito/Asuna relationship might seem forced, you have to think that they were stuck in SAO for two years. The anime just didn't do a good just in showing us the romance as from what I have heard, in the novels it is shown better. As for the tentacle incident, I couldn't stop giggling while watching it lol

PS I would have started posting here sooner but I had no idea this thread existed.

@ComicMan24: Dude. Woman logic. Defies everything.

@ComicMan24:

Welcome to the Sword Art Online thread! Don't worried about it since this thread doesn't get much love. I'm glad to see you.

The tentacles scene was much funnier in Silica's episode. Asuna''s scene gives a freaky, cringing vibe.

Oh yeah, episode 23 just ships the couple well: Kirito X Suguha

Why did the "Bonds" episode feel like 10 min only. Anyways at least Sugu and Kirito already forgive each other and they made it to the top

Same here. I mean, he looks, sounds, and acts 100% like her brother. If would be easier to buy her ignorance if she had at least said, "you look like my brother," or something to show that the she recognized that glaring similarities.

@AnimeReviewDaily:

Yeah, it was pretty short. Kirito keeping showing off, but I enjoyed Suguha and Kirito's little duel. It was a different feel from the constant bashing and clashing in other sword fights.

I like that we got a glimpse of Kirito and Suguha's past. Damn Recon was very pushy. At least, he went out with a bang for a minor character.

@takashichea:

Yeah that kirito and suguha duel hit me right in the chest. And i actually thought the whole episode was a flashback of kirito and suguha when they were kids.

Well, at least Suguha admitted to have acted like an idiot in the last episode. That's something lol And I liked that little duel those two had, it was at least better than having staring each other awkwardly and trying to talk. As for Recon, not his lucky day. And that sacrifice became meaningless, seeing as just a few seconds later the Caith Siths and the Sylphs arrived. At least Kirito made it to the top.

Apparently she had no idea he was her brother, which I admit sounds silly as you said because of all the similarities.

Ep. 24 was hilarious despite that Sugou was licking Asuna like a perverted dog. Sugou's rant made him a better and funnier villain than Kayaba. When Kayaba came in and Kirito thank him, I still don't know why the creator potrayed Kayaba as the good guy. The guy caused the death of hundreds for a stupid goal of creating his own virtual world.
