Introduction

Greeting fellow Vicers! The name is AnimeReviewDaily or ARD for short. Anyways... This my first time making my own Blog here and ill be making my very first "All you need to Know" were i'll be guiding you to some anime's that may seem kinda more or less not understandable and introduce you more to the series if its worth watching or not so what are we waiting for here is my guide to know all about

How it all started...

So what is Sword Art Online?

Sword Art Online is a Japanese light novel series written by Kawahara Reki (The same person who Also Created Accel World) and illustrated by abec . The series is published by ASCII Media Works under Dengeki Bunko.

It was adapted into an anime series by A-1 Pictures and was air on July 2012. The series has also been adapted into a manga series, with illustrations by Nakamura Tamako. A game called Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment for the PSP is in the works.

Kawahara Reki wrote the first volume in 2002 as contribution for the ASCII Media works’ Dengeki Game Novel Prize but refrained from sending it in due to exceeding the page limit. Thus he published it as a web novel using the pseudonym Fumio Kunori. Over time he added three further volumes and several short stories. In 2008 he tried again for the prize by writing Accel World and this time won the Grand Prize. Aside from Accel World he was also asked to get his prior work Sword Art Online published by ASCII Media Works. Kawahara agreed and withdrew his web novel versions. The republication as a paper novel began on April 10, 2009.

The World of SAO

A huge castle made of stone and steel floating in an endless sky.

That was all this world was.

It took a varied group of craftsmen one month to survey the place; the diameter of the base floor was about 10 kilometers—large enough that the entirety of Setagaya-ku would fit on it. Above, there were 100 floors stacked directly on top of each other; its sheer size was unbelievable. It was impossible to even guess how much data it consisted of.

Inside, there were a couple of large cities and countless small towns and villages, forests and plains, even lakes. Only one stairway linked each floor to another, and the stairways were in dungeons where large numbers of monsters roamed, so discovering and getting through was no easy matter. However, once someone broke through and arrived at a city in the higher floor, the Teleport Gates there and in every city in the lower floors would connect, making it possible for anyone to move freely through these levels.

Under these conditions, the huge castle had been steadily conquered over two years. The current front line is the 74th floor.

The name of the castle was Aincrad, a world of battles with swords that continued floating and had engulfed approximately six thousand people. Otherwise known as...

Sword Art Online

Kirito

The Main Character of Sword Art Online. Introduce from the Very Start. Has a strange resemblance of Squall from The Final Fantasy series (For me).

A Skilled and powerful swordsman. He is always using a One-handed sword style. Was one of the 1000 Beta player who played SAO in its Beta-stages.

Things To Understand and Terminologies to Know About Sword Art online

Nerve Gear - The instrument that used as the interface with VRMMORPG games.

VRMMORPG - Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games.

SAO - Abbreviation for Sword Art Online. The objective of all the Players in SAO is to clear all 100 floors in Aincrad. Its was turned out that the "Special Feature" of the game was there was no LOG out button and that Death in the game causes Death in the Real World.

Solo Player - a player who fight own their own in order to increase level output without sharing EXP to others. They are Given a Risk vs. Reward system to all solo players, since they are in Great danger only by them selves but in return will receive a great amount of EXP or Rare items.

Clearer - Elite class players whose levels are way higher than any other player whose focus are leveling up and skill development to clear the game. They are looked upon cause they are high enough to fight in the frontlines, which are the most dangerous part of the game.

Beater - A term that is used in SAO. It a cross between a "Beta-Tester"(a player who were given early access to the Sword Art Online game before the release) and a "Cheater". Its a uses as harsh term to those people who play unfair, such as prior knowledge of game mechanics or Best farming spots.

PKer - Abbreviation for Player killer. an act of killing a player in the game

Crystals - There three types of crystals in SAO

  • Warp - uses to teleport on any area (Even specific place or mapped dungeon area) in any open level.
  • Healing - a high level healing item with an instant effect as opposed to regular healing potions that will take time

The 100th floor (Verdict, Opinions, and final remarks)

This not just your typical adventure, hack and slash type of anime the you most commonly see. Sword Art Online brings a new generations of Anime that is sure to be well known for a long time. Its brings out a similar feeling when you play you favorite MMORPG and puts you in a question, What if i was in Kirito's position? Will i do the same thing he does? Things like that goes to your head and its actually amazing. Just 10 more years, would we actually play Sword Art Online if it actually exist. The show itself is breath-taking to the point that you're just there at the edge of your seat awaiting for the next scene of a Epic Battle scene or revelation to discover the purpose why Sword Art Online was even created to begin with.

I like how they make time for an Episode that balances all themes in just one sitting. They didn't make it all about Kirito's emotional problems or just going to the main story, They showed Side Stories that made us know and understand everything about the characters and how they are involved in SAO cause without them it would just be a regular hack and slash. The themes that they show are all there. At times it will be a Introduction of a new character and the next they switch to new theme to a person who is important and dies the next that questions the moral grounds and values of his actions. Love also is being shown Between Kirito and Asuna and at times the other girls who knows kirito like Silica and Lisbeth falls in love him. Scenes of funny moments are also good thing to see in the show and Fighting scenes or Shocking episodes is what makes us crave for the next episode.

The Animation and Colored effects are Splendid and Superb. BGM while watching those story scenes make them intense and worthwhile to watch.

I recommend this to all who have been waiting for a anime version of this since the Light novel was made and for those who want to have a favorite anime right now. Also i recommend this to those who are also Watching accel world cause they have the same story plot of them in the future using a device that enables them to live their own reality within a game.

Even if you read first the light novel, manga, and watch the anime, Kawahara Reki Story of Sword Art Online is chance you should not miss

And i'm pretty sure you'll get interested to it when you read Chapter 16.5 of the light novel

Nice guide. I'm enjoying this series a lot. I thought it might be crazy deep in MMO stuff but there's basically none of that in it. If someone missed the first episode they would probably think it's just a fantasy series like Scrapped Princess.

It's good to see a guide on Sword Art Online and a wiki editor helping out on the pages. You should definitely make your next guide a blog. That way you can link to more pages. Don't forget to proofread your guide.

Check out Sotyfan16's Guide to Making Guides. His blog will help you a lot.

She serves as the main love interest of Kirito and is willing to help him.

Watch for spoilers. I know Asuna and Kirito's relationship is "developing." You can't just tell new fans about these relationship developments. You'll ruin the surprise.

You can say Asuna and Kirito are close friends.
