Suzaku Kururugi News

Suzaku Kururugi is a anime/manga character in the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise

This is a bit of a first here. I am adding the latest in my series of Code Geass R2 4komas on my Anime Vice blog the very same day I posted on my deviant Art page. Both are based upon Episode 23.

 Code Geass R2 Episode 23
 Code Geass R2 Episode 23
This first one is titled "Comfort Deux". It's based on the scene early in the episode where Lelouch is still reeling from the idea that Nunnally is still alive and how this will effect the plan he has spent so much time working on.

I remembered that the last time Lelouch thought he was losing Nunnally he became kind of depressed and sort of hit on Kallen with this, "then...comfort me." line. I thought it would be funny if in this scene where Suzaku is confronting Lelouch about Nunnally that perhaps he is so confused that he actually forgets who he's talking to and thinks it's Kallen again. I lot of yaoi fans enjoy this one as well. The keen observer will notice C.C.'s hand slowly coming into view with the recorder in panels two and three. That is sort of a call back to some of my favorite moments in Loony Toons where something or someone would slowly come into view for comedic effect. That's why I gave C.C. that sort of sly Bugs Bunny look at the end.

As you can tell in the picture above. I really like to try and emulate the scenes I'm making into a joke. That way fans will be able to know exactly where this is taking place. You often don't see that level of detail in fan comics.

Yet another 4koma to go along with this same episode. It's this image that both debuts on both Anime Vice and deviant Art at the same time. The title is "Release". This is a little later after it's been revealed that the Black Knights had repaired Gino's KMF, the Tristan. He's talking with Kallen about how he understands how she must of felt being half Brittanian and fighting with the Japanese. Really, it's a stupid statement. He didn't understand at all what she was feeling.

I really hated Gino. He was the most pointless character that never influenced anything in the series. I don't even think through the whole series that he ever even knew that Lelouch was originally Zero. I really wish Suzaku had killed him when he killed the other Knights of the Round.

Art wise, one of my favorite touches was the blurring of the Tristan in the foreground. It helped sell the sense of depth. The color work came out pretty well too.

I hope you enjoyed the art work and they gave you a good laugh. If you visit my devArt page you can see this art amongst others in a larger size. Please, feel free to comment.

Alright, I know I'm really late with this one. We just had several power outages in my area today and I pretty much got very little of my workload done today. I heard about the power outage at Comic Vine/Anime Vice.
Whatever evil spirit struck there has made it to Kentucky and where Sora_the_Key is. I had two power outages. One was in mid day while I was trying to work. I just heard this god awful sound from a street nearby as it was happening. It sort of sounded like a tree falling. I went to investigate. Some eighteen year old took a header with his car into a telephone pole. Hit it with enough force that the pole came down taking the transformer and power lines with it. Thankfully the young man wasn't too badly injured. It's been raining so that was probably part of the cause.

Here we have three 4komas, but two are based on Episode 18.

This is a pretty funny one and I'm very pleased with the background work. I always love trying to take a serious moment and turning it into something silly. Though, you would not believe how often I've had to explain this joke. Sooo many times people have thought that is Suzaku in the last panel. Did these people even watch the show?? Did they just forget that Lelouch is always getting exhausted easily?

Here is another in the lines of the Upgrade jokes. I had noticed that when Lloyd and Cecile were being questioned about the work they were doing to the Guren, Cecile seemed embarrassed and mentioned really being in Hobby Mode. I used that to play into something naughty she was doing. I thikn the Guren SEITEN came out looking really sweet in this comic. Kallen is on the inside and Sayoko shows her hidden ninja abilities.  The UPGRADE jokes were king od a running gag in my 4komas.
See: UPGRADE 1 and UPGRADE 2

This 4koma is probably one that I have had to explain above any other.  I got to the point where I was really sick of explaining it. If you have seen the episode, you should be able to figure this out.
I took this opportunity to take a crack at Suzaku and why a lot of people out there don't like him. He always seems to blame Lelouch for things he has no control over. This was also my first time really drawing the Lancelot Albion and the Shinkirou KMFs.

Hope you enjoy.

I have my mother's birthday today. We are having a birthday dinner and I'm bringing the dessert I baked. It's her favorite Apple Tart. My brother wont be there. He forgot our mother's birthday......again. He's seeing her Sunday. So, without further ado. Here is the next Code Geass R2 4koma.

Code Geass R2 - Episode 16
Code Geass R2 - Episode 16

Code Geass R2 - Episode 16
Code Geass R2 - Episode 16

Both are obviously based on the same episode. I made the image twice, because I couldn't settle on which ending I liked more. It plays off the events after Suzaku almost injected Kallen with a powerful hallucinogenic drug called Refrain. Seeing how that was a drug that her mother is suffering from. She didn't take to kindly to that. Suzaku returns to apologize for trying to use that on her, and she beats the living daylights out of him. It was a very nice scene.

The joke in the first one is actually based on a scene where Anya asks Suzaku if he's a masochist. There actually was an edited clip in the beat down scene where someone made it look like a fighting game. I saw that as I was working on this comic as well. I guess I wasn't the only person to get the same idea. lol

Hope you enjoy.

Here is the posting for today. It's a bit late in the day, because there was a Mythbusters marathon on today.

Code Geass R2 - Episode 13
Code Geass R2 - Episode 13
The previous 4komas had some pretty sexy art with the open cleavage and what happened to Cecile. This one has some beefcake for the girls.

The comic for Episode 12 is based on the idea of the male strippers at bachelorette parties. Now, if you have seen the previous episodes of Code Geass R2 that delt with this. Lelouch, dressed as Zero, interupted the wedding that had been arraigned for the Chinese Empress. Also, after the battle in China had been settled. Lelouch returned to Japan and found that two members of the Knights had joined the student council. I thought it would be funny if what he did created some sort of trend in male strippers. They dress up as Zero an try to kidnap the bride to be. In this comic I imagine that 'somehow' Milly talked Lelouch into being the man in the cake for this.
What Milly neglected to mention was that she canceled her arranged marriage. That she's going to wait until Lelouch dances for her to tell him. A lot of people don't quite get what Suzaku is thinking in this shot.  He's both confused and entertained. At this point he's not 100% sure if Lelouch has his memories back. So, he sees some irony in Lelouch dressed up as a stripper Zero. Here we have Lelouch in a banana hammock. lol

The comic for Episode 13 is based upon the scene where V.V. first appeared to Cornelia. He barely had the chance to say anything before she threw a knife into his head. I thought it was funny how she just cut him off mid-sentence. I thought it could be funny that if she just keeps trying to kill him over and over. Each time he gets to say less and less. Barty is just standing there getting bored. In the end V.V. is just ticked off and Cornelia is still trying to kill him. I wanted her to have a look of both fear and intense intrigue.

In case you are wondering. What V.V. is trying to say in each panel before he's cut off:

" Now, as I was saying. "
" You know, that still hurts. "

Hope you enjoyed and had a good laugh. The Mythbusters marathon is over. So now, I'm going to go play some Assassin's Creed 2.

As promised I'm posting more Code Geass R2 4komas. I'm going with two a day now. Here we have two comics based on two different episodes, but there is a connecting theme.

In Episode 10, just as Kallen looked like she was going to win in her fight, the power cut out on the Guren and she was captured by the Chinese Federation. It was interesting in that scene. Lelouch was on the bridge of the Black Knight's flag ship. As soon as Kallen was captured it seemed like Lelouch panicked. Rather forcefully he sworn to her that he would save her. Everyone there seems surprised. When the battle was finally over Lelouch demanded to know where Kallen was, but he was too late. The Chinese Federation had handed Kallen and the Guren over to the Britannian Empire that were assisting them. Lelouch appeared angry and swore he would rescue her with his own hands.

Here we see Kallen while she was still in the custody of the Chinese Federation.

For Episode 11. This has Lloyd and Cecil examining the Guren. Accidentally, Cecil activates the Sybian Mode. It's kind of a crass joke, but it's popular.

If you aren't quite sure what is going on in the Episode 11 comic. See this previous post HERE. The "Upgrade" jokes became rather popular in these 4koma series.

This is another in my line of Code Geass R2 4komas. For facts sake, this is actually the one that is where I started to create these into a weekly series. After watching this episode I realized that each one was giving me some funny idea. This is something I made, because I really dislike Suzaku. I don't really think he is gay. I just wanted something seriously embarrassing to happen to him and I wanted the joke to be shocking and something unexpected. He also just seems to love Britannia for the silliest reasons,
This scene originally had Suzaku trying to test if Lelouch had his memories returned. He has him talk to Nunnally on the phone, because Suzaku knows that Lelouch would never knowingly lie to his beloved sister.  This was just so nasty, because you know he must of tried to get Nunnally's hopes of to speak to her brother.

You can tell this was early on in these series, because the characterizations were more cartoonish then I ended up using. The lesson is basically that you shouldn't leave embarrassing numbers on your speed dial.
