As a dyed-in-the-wool Studio Ghibli fanboy I've been more than a little anxious to see some real footage from the animation house's new project The Borrower Arrietty for a long time now. The film releases in two weeks in Japan and is based on a series of children's fantasy novels by British author Mary Norton about a family of tiny people that live underneath the floorboards of an old house. No U.S. distribution deals have been announced as of yet, but like most Ghibli films it'll come stateside...eventually.

I'm as big of a Ghibli fan as anyone, and I too have been anxious to see more of this film. It is going to be a bit of a wait until it comes here, but a studio Ghibli film is almost always worth the wait.

I haven't seen a lot of Ghibli films but I'm interested in this one since I saw the BBC series as a kid. That's about it.

After spending the SCORCHING HOT holiday weekend watching Ghibili movies, I'm really looking forward to this one. Also, because I'm looking forward to seeing a Ghibili movie from this new director, Hiromasa Yonebayashi. The studio MUST keep bringing up guys from their Triple-A farm system and prepare themselves for the post-Hayao Miyazaki era. That reminds me; why hasn't Hiroyuki Morita done anything, since The Cat Returns?
