A Japanese animation studio founded by Sunrise members.
Studio Deen was founded in 1975 by a group of colorists from Sunrise and proceeded to act as an animation assistance company before becoming the prolific primary producer that they are currently.
The studio took its name from Brave Raideen, the first of the Sunrise shows on which it worked. It gained an Osaka regional subsidiary in 1991 and a Chinese subsidiary in 1994, thereby allowing it to cut costs on animation during the impecunious mid-1990s. The studio continues to enjoy a close relationship with the company that supposedly spawned it and can often be found on the credit listings of Sunrise anime. Notable works as a leading animation partner include Diamond Daydreams, Fruits Basket, and the Patlabor videos.
