Bathing Scene

Bathing Scenes, while occasionally meaningful to plot or character development, are generally excuses for fan service.

Big Boobs

Censorship And Localization

The history of anime censorship largely involves the early anime releases and the question of their place in the larger media model.

Crazy Anime Hair

Huge spikes, multiple colors, gravity-defying ponytails... and it's probably all natural somehow too.

Cultural Diversity

This concept describes how people from different race, background, and religion interact. In certain anime and manga series, there are diversity in their characters like Bleach, Code Geass, and Shaman King.

Fan Service

Fan Service is often a sexually provocative moment or pose that takes place in manga and anime. It usually has no real purpose to a story, and serves as a lurid visual.

Fighters

Flashback

Used frequently in Anime to either recap past events or provide a back story for a character, either their origin story or their off-screen training of new attack. Sometime and entire episode/chapter would be a entire flashback.

Gar

Gar is an American-made term that counters the concept of "moe." A character who is gar (or who someone else claims to be "gar for") is a character of such intense masculinity that he (or, occasionally, she) inspires feelings of worship.

Hypnosis

To influence or control someone using hypnosis.

Ki

Ki is considered to be life force or life energy. Often in Japanese anime and manga, exceptional martial artists are able to harness the Ki for various superhuman feats. It is also referred to as Chi or Qi in Chinese.

Martial Arts

Seen in just about every form of anime at least at one point. The key component that makes Shounen popular among boys. As well as Ancient art in itself

Military

The force of defense and offense of a nation. Are mostly equiped with the best weapons that the nation can provide.

Possession

The act of controling an individual, making him preform actions at your will.

Rivals

Rivals are competitor to someone. Unlike an enemy, rivals could have similar goals but disagree on the process.

Tournament

A battle between participants to see who is the strongest. It usually involves brackets and moving up the line, but it can also be in other formats such as a "survival of the fittest" format.
