Ryu trains with an old man who lives with his granddaughter in the mountains where he and Ken trained unde master Gouken. The reason for this training is his wish to fight Gouken's brother and killer: Akuma (Gouki).
Only three characters from the game are present in the movie: Gouken (that wouldn't appear in the games until Street Fighter IV with a much different look), Akuma (Gouki), Ryu and Ken (who does not fight).
