Waa Za Fak?! FUNimation is offering the first two P&S episodes for free!!
How can you turn down free anime?!
The English anime distribution compant FUNimation has been offering the subtitled PANTY & STOCKING anime series for their paid Elite members for a few months now, and on July 10th they'll be releasing the dubbed version on DVD. Still, if you've been itching to know how this American inspired anime out of GAINAX sounds in English. FUNimation now has something nice for you.
Last week, FUNimation began hosting the first two English dubbed episodes of PANTY & STOCKING on their website for free and completely uncensored. You can watch these episodes on their website FUNimation Video HERE. Since this content is rates as mature, you may have to register an account with FUNimation first, but a standard account is free. I've watched these two full episodes, and it really seems as if they had some fun dubbing this anime.
The entire series is available for pre-order on both Rightstuf,com and Amazon.com. Rightstuf is offering a limited time gift for pre-orders of a replica Heaven Coin for pre-orders. It's a while supplies last kind of deal, so, get in on that while they're available.

Come get a better look at this summer's biggest anime release on DVD.
Though the anime PANTY & STOCKING WITH GARTERBELT is having a rather tenuous release with FUNimation Entertainment being blocked from releasing the series on Blu-ray by Kadokawa Pictures. We can be excited that we get our first look at the DVD box art for this July release.
The complete series DVD is set fore release on July 10, 2012 and being sold on both Amazon.com and Rightstuf.com. Rightstuf is the only online retailer that's offering a special limited edition to come with an unspecified gift while supplies last.

The Anarchy Sisters do more than just curse in English now, but why no Blu-ray?!

The raunchy, western influenced GAINAX anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt tore through the anime scene in late 2010 and took everyone by surprise. It was simulcast on Crunchyroll, but was taken down after FUNimation Entertainment obtained the licensing rights. They would eventually host the thirteen episode comedy series to their FUNi Elite members only, and it left many of us P&S fans dying to know when we'd get a US release and Dub cast. Well, turns out that's today.
It was on Saturday 28 at Anime Central that FUNimation at their Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt Focus Panel they finally revealed their US dub cast to take on the role of the fallen angels and assorted others. The release date is for July 10th 2012. Sure to be a smoking hot summer release. Panty will be played by Jamie Marchi (who has voiced Charlotte E. Yeager and Liz Thompson) and Stocking will be done by Monica Rial (who has voiced May Chang and Tashigi). Full Cast listing can be found HERE
The most surprising part of this news is that on FUNimation's own news page about their releases through July lists Panty & Stocking being on DVD only. The Japanese production was distributed in both DVD and BD. Oddly enough, other FUNi released for Shiki, Dragon Age The Movie, and Ouran High School Host Club are offering Blu-ray. Back at Anime Boston, FUNimation had promised the audience a DVD/BD release, but that was all changed when Kadokawa Pictures began restricting the international licensors of many series to drop all Blu-ray releases for this calendar year. Their reasoning behind the decision is unknown and has caused some fans to cancel their original pre-orders for series that they were originally promised for Blu-ray.
Now, this doesn't mean there will never be a Blu-ray release outside of Japan. Kadokawa has just not yet allowed licensors to release Blu-ray. So far, we know it just wont be happening this year. Kadokawa's latest mandate seems foolhardy when you consider that the U.S. audience has been slowly favoring Blu-ray over DVD in the past few years. It just seems to be in our nature that we want our products to be of the highest possible quality available to us. You really have to wonder what got into Kadokawa's head that they wouldn't want to offer a product that people are begging to buy from you. I was personally very excited for this, but I really think you could count me among those who would rather just wait for Blu-ray. How about the rest of you?
The entire series can now be pre-ordered on Amazon.com HEREfor $49.99 USD and Rightstuf.com HERE(Limited Edition) for $38.99 USD, but Amazon prices have known to drop on pre-orders as the release date nears. It's been a long time coming, today FUNimation finally announced the dub cast for Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, the delightfully ridiculous and rude Gainax title. Instead of rambling on though I'll let Gangsta Afro Piccolo do the talking:

PANTY & STOCKING WITH GARTERBELT
SINOPSES
Panty and Stocking are two fallen angels that work killing ghosts to obtain heaven's coins and to return heaven. These two live in a church of the priest Gatherbelt, in Daten City, and have a strange " dog" named Chuck. Also there a geek boy that is in love with Panty, and two demons how fight against the angels . GENRES

Sex-crazed and badass, Panty is an angel sent from Heaven to fight Ghosts on Earth. She uses her panties as a gun to attack. Although she is technically an angel, Panty is an extreme nymphomaniac, quite selfish, an exhibitionist and prone to acts of violence. Her weapon of choice are a pair of panties which transform into a pistol when she removes them.
Stocking is an angel sent from heaven to battle ghosts. Stocking has a very nonchalant attitude towards things and an immense sweet tooth. Her weapon of choice is a katana made from stockings, although they look more like knee high socks, which she removes before going into battle.
Garterbelt's serves as the handler for Panty and Stocking and looks after their general well-being.
Chuck is the hyperactive pet of Panty and Stocking.
Briefs is a nerdy young man who attends Daten City High. He carries a PKE meter on his back and is obsessed with the occult.
Why i must see this anime?
- Don't be fooled about the grafic XD Panty & Stocking has a great animation.
- It's really funny.
- Has a lot of dark humor
- Bad language
- Sexual references
- Has parodies (Sex and the City, Night of the Living Dead, Transformers...)
- It's some times non-sense XD
- Has some nice and funny action sequences
- You don't believe, i know, but this show has a lot of fanservice. Yes, fanservice XD
- All characters are funny
