Star Wars the Clone Wars (2003)
The original Star Wars the Clone Wars animated series was released between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It originally aired on Cartoon Network.
Overview:
Originally aired in 3 minute chapters, Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack) with the help of George Lucas told the story between the Star Wars films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The show focuses on the Clone Wars and Anakin Skywalker's slow fall from promising Jedi padawan to borderline Sith Lord. We see him grow and change as he attains the rank of Jedi Knight leading up to the events of the third movie. This series is often confused with the more kid friendly Star Wars: The Clone Wars since the two titles are so similar. Several iconic Star Wars characters were introduced in this series, most notably the villains Asajj Ventress, Durge, and General Grievous.
