Sam and I are going to be all around the LA Convention Center this weekend, getting into all sorts of shenanigans during this second go-round for Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo. We’ll be shooting some very special episodes of the Vice Pit on the convention floor with some personalities from the SPJA (as well as some surprise guests, too).

We know that some of you lunatics are in the greater Los Angeles area and we hope we’ll get to meet some of you in the flesh at the show. We may even be able to get you on a special segment we’re taping at the show if you’re especially perky... so be sure to bring your sunniest smile!

Here are the assorted panels and signings you can catch us at…

SATURDAY – SEPTEMBER 15TH

Times TBD Signing at Archaia Entertainment [Booth #1259]

Come get a copy of HYBRID BASTARDS! personally signed by your very own Tom Pinchuk! Signing times are still being locked down. Check the booth for the times, though. The staff will now where I’ll be on that.

2-3 PM Icons: Zak Penn, Marv Wolfman, Matt Hawkins” [Room 304ABC]

Zak Penn, the creator of ALPHAS TV Series and writer on THE AVENGERS and THE INCREDIBLE HULK films, legendary comic book writer Marv Wofman, creator of BLADE, BULLSEYE and THE NEW TEEN TITANS, and Matt Hawkins, President and COO for Top Cow and writer, creator of ALIBI, NECROMANCER, and LADY PENDRAGON come together for a discussion on the writing process and the future of the superhero in film, comic books, video games, and transmedia. Tom Pinchuk moderates.

4-5 PM “Cosplay 101” [Room 308AB]

Award-winning cosplayers show you the tricks of the trade and share their wealth of crafting information in this informative panel on how to make an amazing cosplay! Blizzcon 2011's 1 and 2 place winners Avery Faeth and Shadowglaive Cosplay join Vensy and Vash Fanatic Cosplay in this panel that is a must-see for anyone interested in the craft! Moderated by Tom Pinchuk.

SUNDAY – SEPTEMBER 16TH

12-1 PM Signing at Archaia Entertainment [Booth #1259]

Come get a copy of HYBRID BASTARDS! personally signed by your very own Tom Pinchuk!

2-3 PM “Making A Comic - - Step By Step” [Room 301B]

So you want to learn how to make a comic, but you're tired of overly-general tips? Join writer Tom Pinchuk (HYBRID BASTARDS!, UNIMAGINABLE) for a very focused breakdown of the process. Pulling back the curtain, he and his fellow creators will show you how a single page goes from notes to script to layouts and then to pencils, inks, colors and letters. Have your pens and notepads ready - there'll be informative and specific commentary on the thoughts, choices and collaborative give-and-take that go with each step.

3-4 PM “Battle of the Robins: Who Does It Best?” [Room 306AB]

The Boy Wonder, Batboy, Bird Brain, one half of the Dynamic Duo, Robin is the most famous sidekick in comic history. But Batman has had several very different Robins. In the 75 years or so of DC Comics history, from Dick Grayson to Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Damian Wayne, Carrie Kelly, and countless other alternate universe versions, the Dark Knight has had a revolving door of teen wonders. Join six panelists as they are ringed together to verbally fight to the death as to why their particular Robin is the best. Moderated by Sam Weller.

Tom Pinchuk’s a writer and personality with a large number of comics, videos and features like this to his credit. Visit his website - - tompinchuk.com - - and follow his Twitter: @tompinchuk

Sam Weller is a writer and actor who's scribed for shows like FIRST EDITION, GEEK THERAPY, and most recently BATGIRL: SPOILED. He also really likes anime. To know what is going to happen next, follow @cravesam

To you all on the W(B)est Coast... I'm sure we'll see all of you soon! If you monsters keep spreading the word about Anime Vice we might even be able to do a 'fan meetup'. Any takers? (Namely Tom, whom I haven't discussed this at all with yet :)
