Squidn't that English?!
Ika-chan gets the hang of speaking english
Takeru is approached by a tourist who asks for directions. Takeru quickly runs to Eiko saying that he wants to learn english. Ika-chan hears this and wants to learn english too, thinking of eventually invading America. Eiko can't teach them, so she enlists the help of Cyndi to teach Takeru and Ika english. In almost no time at all, much to Eiko's dismay, both Takeru and Ika learn to speak fairly well in english. To even greater dismay, is seems that even Chizuru is fluent in english. A series of mishaps and misunderstanding occur as everyone is conversing in english and Eiko can only speak to them in japanese.
"Itadakimasu." is sort of like saying "Let's eat."
Through a series of misunderstandings Eiko starts to think she can communicate with english-speaking people even though she doesn't know english. The next day Eiko puts this to the test as the same tourist asks her for directions to the train station, to which she says, "Oh, you can walk there." But to the tourist it sounds like "I'll kill you," and the tourist runs away.
Ink you can stop it?!
Ika tickles a customer
Eiko is reading a magazine while watching Ika, Ika is accidentally tickling Eiko with her tentacles. It seems Ika doesn't know what tickling is. Once Ika realizes that someone else has to do it to you, she has some fun at the Lemon. Sanae is jealous of how many other people Ika is tentickling. Ika tries tickling Chizuru, despite warnings. But it turns out Chizuru is not ticklish around the waist like normal people, and Chizuru returns the favour and tickles Ika-chan into submission.
Ika prepares to take Chizuru for surprise
Unfortunately due to all the laughing Ika-chan gets hiccups. Ika says that after 30 hiccups her tentacles will mutate and start attacking people. In order to solve her hiccups she must be made happy with some surprise. They try doing a bunch of things, but eventually cook up her a shrimp feast. When that doesn't work Chizuru scares Ika-chan's hiccups away.
Get my drift?!
Ika makes her first bamboo boat
Eiko lets Ika take a break from work to go play with Takeru and his friends by the river. When they get there they decide to race bamboo boats, Takeru teaches Ika how to make one. Ika is amazed, and makes her first bamboo boat, calls it Black Tiger and puts a rock in it to represent herself. Takeru's friends are apprehensive and don't want to tell Ika that her ship will probably sink. But one of the boys came prepared with a lighter pumice rock that he lends to Ika-chan. This allows Ika's boat to stay afloat. Takeru's friends agree to let Ika win at any cost, Takeru is dismayed and mildly amused by this.
Ika-chan after winning the race follows the Black Tiger to see how far it goes. Ika-chan imagines a miniature Ika riding the bamboo boat. Ika-chan is sad when the Black Tiger is finally overcome by the waves. Ika after following the river, finds that it leads back to the sea, and sees a beach house she goes to it thinking it's the Lemon, but it is actually the Lenon. (See Note 1) Back at the Lemon, Eiko, Takeru and his friends wonder whether Ika will come back.
