A live-action adaption of Speed Racer written and directed by Larry and Andy Wachowski.
Speed Racer had a budget of $120 million dollars and featured over the top effects showcasing the world of racing and car fighting.
The movie deals with Speed Racer (Emil Hirsch) and his desire to become the best professional race car driver in the world. As he continues to become a better racer, he is haunted by the memory of his older brother, Rex, who left home and died in a car accident.
Speed soon attracts the attention of the head of Royalton Industries. Speed almost gives in to the temptation of the flashy life Royalton offers but decides that racing for his family is more important. Speed quickly discovers the dirty nature of professional racing and with the help of the mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox), Speed not only want to win the grand prix, but also take down Royalton and the mobster Cruncher Block.
