Speed Grapher

Cameraman Tatsumi Saiga used to have a real job as a war photographer, but a strange chain of circumstances led him into the unprincipled end of the market among the paparazzi. Hanging around Tokyo scrabbling for saleable shots, his perfectionism works against him. When he's hired to snap the exclusive Roppongi Club, he can't afford to say no, despite the difficulties. The club's location is secret, it's open only to the A-list, and rumor says that members get access to extraordinary powers through secret ceremonies and forbidden fantasies. When Saiga sneaks in and photographs one of these strange ceremonies, he's caught out by a goddess who, far from being angry, enables him to change into Speed Grapher, a superhuman entity with the power to make anything or anyone he photographs explode-an update of the old superstition that taking someone's photograph will steal his soul. Gorgeous 15-year-old Kagura wants to get away from the club before she becomes a bit player in someone else's twisted fantasy. They get out, but now face retribution from the cult.
