Plot

  • Producer: A-1 Pictures
  • Genre: drama, psychological, science fiction
  • Release Date: August 9, 2014

The teaser visual shows the brothers Mutta and and Hibito during childhood. The trailer then proclaims that "the previously unwritten true beginning of that manga, which embodies Japan in dreams and emotions, is being made into an animation film. This is the origin story. This is chapter 0."

The Uchū Kyōdai #0 (Space Brothers #0) film will open on August 9. The original manga has been on hiatus since December 26 because Koyama was writing the film's script. However, he will resume the manga in this year's 12th issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine on February 20.

@takashichea: The 2nd trailer you posted is actually of the live-action Space Brothers movie that has already been released and covers similar story as the anime series. The animated film "Space Brothers 0" is the one that is going to be released, and I heard is more of a prequel.

Anyways I've been meaning to check out the Space Brothers live-action, so this was a nice reminder. =) Also hearing the music again brings tears to my eyes T-T. This series is so awesome.

@AURON570:

I didn't notice. I was rushing yesterday making all the movie trailers I could possibly do. You should check out the Summer 2014 Anime Movies/OVAs Guide when you have time.
