Urahara, along with Tessai Tsukabishi confronted Aizen over 100 years ago just as Shinji Hirako and his fellow Shinigami were mutating into Vizards. Though he tried to apprehend Aizen and his two subordinates (a very young Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tosen) they escaped. Urahara and Aizen have not had any encounters since that night.

Kuukaku Shiba is the elder sister of the proud Shiba clan known for their fireworks skills in the Soul Society.

Tobiume harbors a deep-seated hatred for Aizen for what both he and her "fellow" Zanpakutou, the manipulative Kyoka Suigetsu, did to Momo during his time as Captain of The 5th Protection Squad. Apparently, Tobiume was aware of Aizen's plans from the moment Momo came into contact with Aizen but was unable to do anything about it, possibly due to the severe effects Kyoka Suigetsu had on Momo.

Yumichika Ayasegawa is the 5th seated member of the 11th Protection Squad of Soul Society. He is extremely vain and seemingly frivolous, but much more powerful than his rank would suggest. He maintains a close friendship with Ikkaku Madarame and is very loyal to his captain, Zaraki Kenpachi.
