Bigger Bad

A type of Villain more power full than the Big Bad and can be a recurring villain as well.

Bookworm

Bookworms are characters who would rather have their face buried in a book than do anything else. Whether it be a spellbook or a classic novel, these characters just love books.

Brother and Sister

A male and a female member of a family that share the same parents.

Cat Fight

A term given to an altercation between two women.

Catgirl

Girls with cat-like features, primarily ears and tail. Feline mannerisms are also common.

Cats

Feline animal with four legs and says "meow." Many are found hanging around animes and mangas.

Censorship And Localization

The history of anime censorship largely involves the early anime releases and the question of their place in the larger media model.

Chibi

Chibi means to be small in stature. In anime/manga the term is used for a character that is small in appearance and exaggerated features.

Comedy

Nearly every anime has a comedic moment here or there. Everyone likes to laugh.

Convenient Censorship

Convenient Censorship such as steam, hair and beams of light are often used in anime and manga to show naked characters while obscuring their "naughty bits".

Crazy Anime Hair

Huge spikes, multiple colors, gravity-defying ponytails... and it's probably all natural somehow too.

Death Scythes are the most powerful weapons in Soul Eater and a weapon can only reach this rank after it has eaten 99 kishin egg souls and one witch's soul.

The Organization that would rid of the forces of evil.

Demon Weapons (Soul Eater)

Demon Weapons are characters in Soul Eater who have the power to transform into weapons for the purpose of killing evil spirits. They are teamed up with Meisters in order to complete this objective.

Demons

Are powerful creatures that live in the pits of Hell. That are many classes and levels for these monsters but no matter the rank they are deadly beasts.

Drama

Drama is a concept used in story telling to invoke an emotional reaction from the audience by using serious themes; such as tragedy, suspense, and death.

Fairy

A small human like creature that has insect like wings and is seen in many fantasy stories around the world. The hellish verision of these creatures is called "Imp".

Fan Service

Fan Service is often a sexually provocative moment or pose that takes place in manga and anime. It usually has no real purpose to a story, and serves as a lurid visual.

Fan Service Fight

A battle that features excessive fanservice.

Father

Fatherhood as a concept. A man who has conceived or raised a child.

Female Ninjas

A Female Ninja in Japanese is referred to as a kunoichi. They were given special training that took advantage of a woman's natural gifts.

Filler

Something that isn't from the manga. Could be characters, episodes, and so forth.

Flashback

Used frequently in Anime to either recap past events or provide a back story for a character, either their origin story or their off-screen training of new attack. Sometime and entire episode/chapter would be a entire flashback.

Folklore

A concept used to describe characters who are based on myths, legends, and even religion.

Ghosts

A ghost is a dead persons spirit that roams the earth usually attached to where they died or refusing to go to the after life until there are finished on earth.

Great Old Ones

originally known as the eight powerful warriors were around 800 years before the start of Soul Eater.

Heroic Sacrifice

An act when someone gives up something of great importance for a greater good.

Humans

Humans are typically depicted as the dominant species of the planet Earth, and sometimes of other planets. Humans often mirror their real life counterparts in terms of abilities and intellect, while other times they can achieve superhuman feats.

Japanese Honorifics

Japanese Honorifics are best described as a sign of respect and endearment. Politeness is an important part of Japanese culture and language.

Japanese Writing

Japanese Writing is the writing system of the Japanese language in the form of syllabaries. It consists of Kanji, hiragana, katakana, and romaji.

Kishin

Kishins are powerful demon gods and are a major antagonistic force in Soul Eater.

Lecher

Characters who exercise their strong libidinous desires in unwholesome ways, such as peeping on the objects of their desire, making inappropriate comments, stealing underwear etc. Though typically middle-aged or elderly men with a penchant for young girls, there are probably a few dirty old women out there.

Legendary Parent

Many times in anime and manga, the protagonist of the series will not know who their parent is, or just think they're a regular person, only to later discover that they were a legendary figure or had incredible powers.

Madness

In Soul Eater "Madness" is the power that Kishin and evil spirits use to corrupt others and drive them crazy, often resulting in them turning evil. After the release of Asura, Madness begins to build up around the world uncontrollably.

Magic

Magic is an often used term in fiction. It is the concept of affecting the universe through supernatural methods and breaking the physical laws.

Manga Iconography

Common visual conventions seen in manga and anime to convey emotions, often for comical effect.

Meister

Meisters are characters in Soul Eater who use living weapons to hunt down the souls of wicked people. Most of them are students at Shibusen.

Mummy

A undead corpse wrapped in bandages

Murder

The act of taking another person's life.

Ninjas

A ninja is a (typically Japanese) warrior, trained in martial arts fighting styles, and whom typically specializes in stealthy tactics and unorthodox arts of war.

Nosebleed

Bleeding from the nose, in manga/anime it mostly used as a sight gag that happens when a character is thinking or witnessing something perverted.

Parody

Parody is a style of work that closely resembles or mocks preexisting material or genres for comedic effect.

Partners

A group of at least two people who always work together and often make each other stronger by doing so.

Possession

The act of controling an individual, making him preform actions at your will.
