Bathing Scenes, while occasionally meaningful to plot or character development, are generally excuses for fan service. |

Big Bad
Usually the main villain of the season/show. Most difficult to kill.There are even bigger bads |

Bigger Bad
A type of Villain more power full than the Big Bad and can be a recurring villain as well. |

Big Good
The Big Good is an ally and sometimes the mentor of the Hero. |

Bookworm
Bookworms are characters who would rather have their face buried in a book than do anything else. Whether it be a spellbook or a classic novel, these characters just love books. |

Brother and Sister
A male and a female member of a family that share the same parents. |
|
|
Cat
Feline animal with four legs and says "meow." Many are found hanging around animes and mangas. |
|
|
Cat Fight
A term given to an altercation between two women. |
|
|
Catgirl
Girls with cat-like features, primarily ears and tail. Feline mannerisms are also common. |
|
|
Censorship And Localization
The history of anime censorship largely involves the early anime releases and the question of their place in the larger media model. |
|
|
Chibi
Chibi means to be small in stature. In anime/manga the term is used for a character that is small in appearance and exaggerated features. |
|
|
Child Abuse
Child Abuse is the act of an adult striking or causing harm to a child. Not necessarily physical, but emotional abuse as well.There are also adults who sexually abuse kids called Pedophilia. |

Childishness
When a character doesn't quite act their age and behaves in an upbeat and immature manner. |
|
|
Clothing Damage
When a character's clothes become torn from an attack, such as an explosion or energy blast. |
|
|
Clown
A performer who wears colored wigs, stylistic makeup, outlandish costumes, unusually large footwear, and red nose. |

Collateral Damage
Collateral Damage is a military term describing a situation where soldiers destroy property or kill civilians by accident or on purpose. Example:Dragon Ball Z, there is a lot of property damages and lives lost when Majin Buu blows up the whole city. |

Comedy
Nearly every anime has a comedic moment here or there. Everyone likes to laugh. |
|
|
Convenient Censorship
Convenient Censorship such as steam, hair and beams of light are often used in anime and manga to show naked characters while obscuring their "naughty bits". |

Cool character
Someone who remains calm in most of the situations. Even in the middle of battle. |
|
|
Crazy
Characters with serious long mental unstabilities. They're sometimes simply weird but recently they're portrayed as downright homicidiacs. Not to be confused with the Mentally Unstable where the character fights against it and usually wins. |

Crazy Anime Hair
Huge spikes, multiple colors, gravity-defying ponytails... and it's probably all natural somehow too. |

|
Crying
What someone does when upset/sad. Sometimes people can also cry from sheer joy. |
|
|
Dances And Balls

Dark Past
One or more past events that negatively affected one or more people. It's very common in an anime for at least one person to have such a past. |

Death Scythes are the most powerful weapons in Soul Eater and a weapon can only reach this rank after it has eaten 99 kishin egg souls and one witch's soul. |

Demon Weapons
Demon Weapons are characters in Soul Eater who have the power to transform into weapons for the purpose of killing evil spirits. They are teamed up with Meisters in order to complete this objective. |

A Doctor is a medical professional that works to the goal of curing illness in others. |

Drama
Drama is a concept used in story telling to invoke an emotional reaction from the audience by using serious themes; such as tragedy, suspense, and death. |

Drunk
Someone who loves to consume alcohol, and typically overdoes it. |
|
|
Eating
Perhaps the greatest past-time in Anime, eating is often done in more lighthearted moments as a source of humor or as a way of showing togetherness with characters, usually involving characters who can eat insane amounts of food and not gain an ounce. |

Energy Blast
A character can harness their power and shoot energy-based projectiles from their body. |
|
|
Exaggerated Emotional Iconography
Common visual conventions seen in manga and anime to convey emotions, often for comical effect. |

Explosion
Explosions are featured in a wide array of anime/manga, created from various weapons/attacks. |
|
|
Fairy
A small human like creature that has insect like wings and is seen in many fantasy stories around the world. The hellish verision of these creatures is called "Imp". |

Fan Service
Fan Service is often a sexually provocative moment or pose that takes place in manga and anime. It usually has no real purpose to a story, and serves as a lurid visual. |

Fan Service Fight
A battle that features excessive fanservice. |
|
|
Father
Fatherhood as a concept. A man who has conceived or raised a child. |
|
|
Female Ninja
A Female Ninja in Japanese is referred to as a kunoichi. They were given special training that took advantage of a woman's natural gifts. |

Fighter
The character knows well how to defend him or herself. |
|
|
Flashback
Used frequently in Anime to either recap past events or provide a back story for a character, either their origin story or their off-screen training of new attack. Sometime and entire episode/chapter would be a entire flashback. |

Folklore
A concept used to describe characters who are based on myths, legends, and even religion. |
|
|

Friendship

Literally "combination" or "union," generally refers to the fusing of mechs. |
