One day while Soran was wondering around looking for scrap wood, there was a large crashing sound of something landing hard in the show. When she looked into the large paw-shaped crater, she found a lovely dark-haired woman. Her name was Nico Robin, and she had been sent there by some force from the Grand Line. Knowing the lady would be captured but the guards if spotted, she led Robin to the barracks she was living in with several other women. Neither of them liked the idea of getting involved with a stranger. Robin didn't want to cause trouble, but Soran said she would take care of her. She took Robin up to the attic where she spent most of her time. After working, she went to see Robin, and she told Soran about all her adventures as a pirate.
One of the women in her dorm had reported of Robin's presence, but she escaped capture. The guards questioned the women and tormented Soran by snapping the sketches she had worked on to get her to talk. Every time she refused to answer the guard, he broke her pictures. Noise form the outside drew the guards attention. Robin had purposely let herself be captured to protect Soran, and she was taken to the tower. The lady who reported Robin wasn't freed as she asked but given chocolate. Soran went to talk to her since she was now outcast, and didn't blame her. Racked with guilt, she gave Soran the chocolate. She wanted to share it with Robin.
Late one night, Soran sneaked off to see Robin and share with her some of the chocolate. She was caught on the outside of the cells, but it wasn't a guard. It was a member of the Revolutionary Army in disguise. They went to where Robin was held, and a commander form the Revolutionaries. The guards he been alerted, and a firing squad was waiting outside. Once Soran unlocked Robin's Sea Prism Stone cuffs, she used her Devil Fruit powers to break the backs of all the guards at once.
The Revolutionary Army had freed all the slaves and Soran was now able to travel around the world the way she had wanted. She ran up to Robin with a sketch she had made as a thank you. They said their goodbyes, and she left with the Revolutionaries.
