The Sonic OVA's combined into a hour long movie released in America by ADV Films.
Sonic the Hedgehog's archnemesis, Dr. Robotnik, has been banished from the Land of Darkness by an evil Metal Robotnik. He tells Sonic that the Robot Generator has been sabotaged and will blow Planet Freedom to kingdom come. Sonic is reluctant to get involved until the president's daughter Sara turns on the charm, but as he sets off on his mission, he must defeat the Hyper Metal Sonic, a robot hedgehog (and Terminator 2 homage) who's after his girl and his life.
Based on the video game series of the same name, the anime was released in English as Sonic the Movie to imply a budget and quality that simply weren't there. StH retains many favorites from the original, though Sonic's original hedgehog girlfriend, Amy, is replaced with the more human Sara.
