At the end of the 19th century, a new academic year starts in a European boarding school for boys. Serious, devoutly religious Serge finds himself sharing a room with beautiful blond Gilbert Cocteau, an incorrigible flirt whom Serge correctly suspects of being homosexual. Gilbert's sweet nature and considerable physical charms gradually win over his suspicious and hostile roommate, and the pair become friends and lovers. But their relationship is under pressure from Serge's religious convictions and Gilbert's naturally flirtatious personality, which attracts plenty of offers from other boys, staff, and visitors. This tender, starry-eyed romantic melodrama was based on the 1976 manga by Toward the Terra-creator Keiko Takemiya.
