Manga
In the manga, "Pokemon Adventures," Red is in a biking competition, and finds himself and others stopped on a bridge, being blocked by some "boulder." What it actually turns out to be is, a giant Snorlax. This Snorlax is much bigger than the height data that they are said to be. Red wakes it by offering it a snack, which is his Bulbasaur covered in Beedrill honey. Red's lure proves to be sucessful, and the giant beast gets up, and goes after Red. Red bikes as hard and fast as he can, and manages to finish the race, with the Snorlax right behind him. He then uses all the 10000 poke (money), to fill up the Snorlax, and catches him in a Pokeball.
