Silva, who is created by Hiroyuki Takei, has no current information on what inspires the author to create him. His Japanese voice actor is Hikaru Midorikawa, and his English actor is Dan Green. He first appears in volume 4 and episode 13 of Shaman King.
NOTE: The information below is manga only info. See anime differences under "anime and manga differences" paragraph.
He does not appear in the intro arc.
He is Yoh's officiant. After the Lago (shooting star or comet) has signaled the shaman king fight, Silva visit Yoh as craftsman who sells Native American crafts. He tells Yoh to fight him in Amidamaru's cemetery. When Silva demonstrates his oversoul and evades all of Yoh's attacks, he witnesses Yoh's change in skill. Silva watches Yoh's first oversoul, and he challenges Yoh with his Totem Pole Oversoul. The two clash. Silva whose bandana is cut gives Yoh, his oracle pager.
In Yoh's first match, he watches with Kalim. Kalim argues that Horohoro (Kalim's Patch Mentee) will win due to his strength while Silva tells Kalim that the shaman who has the most skill will win, Yoh. Silva's predictions come true.
Silva can materialize his ghosts into simple shield, boot, wings.
Silva can also use oversoul by merging all his animal spirits and materializing them into one totem pole cannon.
Like all shaman king characters, he meets people in a different order in the anime compared to the manga storyline.
