Okay, I lied, this isn't the last video; we'll have one more. But Babs and I started moving out of rape and women in comics, and into women who are inTO comics, as well as comics for women-- something vastly different in the manga world compared to the American comics world.
I was really interested with the result, which was that: yes, there are fewer women into American comics than men traditionally...but the women who like those comics like THOSE comics. That is to say, they don't especially want comics "made for women," because that's not what they got into in the first place. Which is kind of obvious once it's pointed out, but I've definitely talked to female manga fans who didn't get how women could stand to read superhero comics, so it's good to hear from someone out in the American comics fray, as it were!
