Okay, at first glance, I thought the manga Gokujou! Mecha Mote Iinchou-- which is being developed into an anime –was a shoujo-oriented mech series, and I was so excited! Unfortunately, that's not really the case...turns out it doesn't have any mechs at all. (It's “mecha” like “macha,” not like “mekka.”)

But it still sounds pretty cute: it's about a young (I'm thinking elementary or middle school age) girl who's the class chairman who is good at everything and has an easy life, except for having to deal with a trio of troublesome boys in her class, who rebel against everything and refuse to obey the school's rules. I don't doubt for a second that some pre-pubescent romance will follow.

It appears to be a pretty popular franchise; Konami has put out a DS game for it as well as a card game, it looks like.

The anime is out now but it's a really horrible piece of art. It's 2-D animation mixed with 3-D and when it isn't hand drawn, the eyes look lifeless, the hands are stiff barbie hands (when the girl holds books in her hands, her fingers don't curl over the books but look like a barbie holding an item), the hair looks like an attached plastic wig (no fluid hair movement), and the joints move like a kid moving a barbie doll during playtime. It's really terrible and the girl is really annoying (I prefer girls like Tohru (FB), the heroine of Crimson Hero, and the main girl from High School Debut). She seems so vain and selfish.

Don't watch the anime lol Save yourself. Watch something else worthwhile like Ouran. I bet even Princess Tutu is better than this.
