Shizuka Marikawa is one of the Fujima High survivors. She was the school's nurse and tends to the health of her fellow survivors.
Shizuka Marikawa was the school nurse at the Fujimi High School in Japan when the zombie horde attacked, and lived with her friend from the Japanese Special Assault Team as a sniper, Rika Minami. She's the self-appointed guardian of the Team Takashi members and tends to their physical health with her medical expertise.
The character of Shizuka Marikawa is a main character of the manga/anime series Highschool of the Dead that was written by Daisuke Sato and illustrated by Shouji Sato. The series first began serialization in Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine in July 2006. The creators of the series classified characters using role-playing game terminology, and Shizuka is the priest since she is the healer. She has long-blond hair and originally wears a blouse and Prada skirt.
Her first appearance was in Hightschool of the Dead Volume 1 CH. 2 "Escape of the Dead", and her first anime appearance was in Highschool of the Dead - Episode 1 "Spring of the Dead". Her character in the Japanese series is voiced by Yukari Fukui , and the U.S. dub produced by Section 23 is done by Monica Rial. Shizuka is the only member of the original survivors that is a noncombatant, but is the driver.
She is the oldest member of the survivors and has the largest bust size at 108cm J-cup.

Her first appearance in Highschool of the Dead had her wearing her work clothes as the school nurse. She enjoys buying brand names and wore a Prada skirt. She first paired with fellow survivor Saeko Busujima, and teamed up with a group of students led by Takashi Komuro. When they were fleeing the zombies from the nurses office, Saeko was forced to rip Shizuka's skirt up one side to prevent her from tripping any further. When she was asked which was more important to her, her life or brand names. Shizuka defiantly answers "Both!". Her personality is lighthearted and a bit ditzy, but she has extensive knowledge in the medical field.
Shizuka is the only non-fighter in the group and she more often stays to the back. She's the only member of the survivors with a driver's licenses and id the driver of the vehicles. After they all left to home she shared with Rika Minami, Shizuka selected a new outfit to wear that was made up from her casual wear. Though she is the oldest member of the survivor's group, she is more mentally fragile and innocent. After the group adopted a young girl, Alice Maresato, into their group, she serves as a maternal figure.
Saya appears in the Highschool of the Dead OAD titled Drifters of the Dead. It was originally released as a Blu-ray and packaged with a special edition of Highschool of the Dead Vol. 7 on April 26th 2011. She and the rest of Team Takashi find themselves on a small, isolated island off the shore of Tokonosu City. After finding a small beach house filled with a variety of bikinis, they take this opportunity for a break from running. The boys search the island for food while the girls enjoyed the water and sun. Kohta got plenty of seafood and a fire was started. Only later did they realize the leaves they had put into the fire were hydrangea. This caused a hallucination in everyone who breathed in the fumes.
Much of what happens after this is hallucination. Shizuka with Rei began cominc on to Takashi, but he was soon whisked away. When someone grabbed her shoulder, he saw it was her friend Rika Minami. Though who she had mistaken for Rika was actually Saya. In her hallucination, she and Rika were cuddling in a bed and Rika suddenly removed her clothes. Shizuka woke up on the beach nude with Saya, who had been mistaking Shizuka for her mother.
