Famed anime director Shinji Aramaki-- best known for his mech titles, like Appleseed, Appleseed EX Machina, and Megazone 23 –is a video game nut. But apparently it took his wife to get him into Halo 3.
“I’ve always been a fan of video games, and my wife told me that Halo 3 is the best game on the 360,” Aramaki said. “I just sort of got addicted after that.”
It's a lucky thing she did, too, since Aramaki is now working on Halo Legends, an Animatrix-style collection of shorts set in and based on the Halo universe, due out in early 2010 (and featuring yours truly in one of the commentary features).
Aramaki also expresses enthusiasm for the overall project, not just his piece-- particularly Oshii's work as creative director on one short, and the fact that “everything that fans want to see is in this film.”
Whose work are you most excited about on Halo Legends?
