Backstory
At 17 years old, Jimmy (Shinichi) Kudo is a detective prodigy who regularly assists the police in solving baffling murder cases. He draws inspiration from Sherlock Holmes novels to be a great detective and practices soccer to keep himself fit during cases. He is also secretly in love with childhood friend Rachel Moore (Ran Mouri) but neither one can work up the nerve to confess to one another. While tailing two mysterious men he seen at an amusement park, Jimmy is knocked out and he is force fed a drug that is supposed to kill him. Instead, his body is shrunk down to the size of a 7-year old. Jimmy takes the alias Conan Edogawa as a relative of his family friend Dr. Agasa to live with Rachel until he can track down the mysterious men who drugged him and figure out to reverse the effects of the drug.As Conan, Jimmy normally assists Rachel's bumbling father of a detective Richard (Kogorou) in cases by making use of the guy as a dummy by knocking him out with a wristwatch-mounted tranquilizer dart and using a voice modulating bowtie to imitate Richard's voice to explain details surrounding a case.
