Sherry Blendi

Origins

Just like Gray, Sherry's parents were killed by Deliora when she was young, she harboured a bitter hatred of Deliora ever since. She joined Lamia Scale guild when she grew order, but due to her immense hatred toward Deliora she decided to leave the guild and follow Lyon and help him accomplish his plan to destroy Deliora.

Creation

Sherry Blendi was created by the series creator Hiro Mashima. She made her first appearance in Chapter 3 of the manga and Episode 11 of the anime. Her Japanese voice actor is Yuka Iguchi in the Japanese version and Trina Nishimura in the English version.

Character Evolution

Appearance

At first Sherry had twin tails for her hairs and wore goth-loli type of costume when made her first appearance. When she made her second appearance she had completely different look. Apparently she wanted to change her image to celebrate her being turned to seventeen.

Time Skip Changes: Sherry changes her hair again, and it seems she has wore a more revealing outfit with the bottom of her bosom exposed. Sherry is wearing a hairband with two hearts filled triangular attachments on them. Her "vest" is cut off at the bottom of her bosom.

Major Story Arcs

Galuna Island Arc

Fierce fight between two magicians

Along with Yuka and Toby, Sherry followed Lyon to Galuna help him defeat Deliora. Using her Doll Play Magic and her pet name Angelica, which is an overgrown mouse with dress on, Sherry fought against Natsu and his gang. Specifically, Sherry fought against Lucy on one-on-one. Sherry used her magic to create Wooden Doll, made of tree, to strike but Lucy counterattacks with her Taurus which actually gave Sherry an advantage. She revealed that her magic allows her to take control of any object except human. However Celestial Spirits do not count as human, this enables Sherry to control Taurus against Lucy. Lucy closes Taurus' gate by force, returning him to the Spirit World. Both continue to fight on until Lucy brings out Aquarius, since even when Aquarius was under control she attacks anybody in the vicinity anyway. In the end Sherry loses and Lucy became the victor.

Oracion Seis Arc

Beginning of new love

Sherry made her appearance once again when various guild formed an alliance to fight against Oracion Seis, including Lamia Scale. She helps Lyon and Gray to fight against Racer. However when she was affected by the power of Nirvana, she turned into revengeful person, thinking that Lyon was killed in his battle against Racer and he would be still alive if it weren't for Gray. Thinking nothing but revenge, Sherry tries to kill Gray, but Gray manages to knock out her out. She later gets back into action by helping Ren to suntain battleship Christina to stay in the air. While cooperating each other, both Ren and Sherry develops feeling for each other. After when the battle was over, the two was having hard time from leaving each other.

Power & Abilities

Doll Play Magic

Sherry's Magic Seal.

Her power is named Doll Play Magic, which enables her to control any object, including Celestial Spirits (but not humans) as if she was a puppeteer.

Doll Play Techniques	Description
Doll Play Attack: Puppeteer	Sherry can take control of any object excluding humans. This can include animals and Celestial Spirits.
Doll Play Attack: Rock Doll	Sherry gathers numerous rocks from around her and forms it into a humanoid golem of some sorts on which she can ride on.
Doll Play Attack: Carpet Doll	Sherry can gain control of a carpet to make the person standing on it to lose balance. She used this on Lucy to scare her.
Doll Play Attack: Wood Doll	Sherry can take control of a tree, turning it into a tree-like creature which she uses to attack her opponent
Doll Play Attack: Mud Doll	Sherry uses the liquefied ground, courtesy of Hoteye, to create a mud-like monster and use it to attack her opponent (Anime only).
