Cats have nine lives. The central character of this experimental film needs them all. Lost at sea and adopted by a sea otter, he's abducted by a UFO as nuclear war breaks out and the oceans evaporate in the ensuing holocaust. Director Saida, a talented animator who worked on Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind and Grave of the Fireflies, pulled in a team of animators to contribute one shot each. The movie was never distributed but loaned out for small screenings, a method called "hall projection" in Japan.
