Sometimes the pursuit of scientific knowledge goes far beyond what is accepted in polite society. When normal Science can't get the job done, we turn to "Science!" and the perverse minds that practice it.
'Science!' is the morally ambiguous (and possibly insane) sibling to what could be considered more "benevolent" science. Traditional science aims to benefit mainkind and cure the world's ills, while "Science!" continues on to challenge the limits of what has already been done. Along the way, a mind free of morality and good-will can create many thing: biological weapons, flesh-eating viruses, robots, mutants, bombs, guns, poisons, zombies, and etc. While some accredit practitioners of "Science!" of trying to take over and/or destroy the world, we would do well to recall that "Science!" and its pursuit exists outside of the traditional scheme of Good and Evil. Though, laughing like a maniac only serves to show you've freed yourself from the shackles of sanity that holds other scientists down.
