Tenma Tsukamoto, a cute, ditzy girl, is in love with someone, but she can't tell him how she feels. Funnily enough, Harima Kenji, fighter, aspiring manga artist and resident badass, likes Tenma, but just can't get up the nerve to say so. Too bad she likes someone else! Still, the two oblivious dolts must try to find love and settle their own lives amidst other girls and guys, as well as one over-the-top school. It's all wacky hijinks and stupidity of manga. No dramatic plot here!
School Rumble  ( スクールランブル , Sukūru Ranburu) is written and illustrated by Jin Kobayashi. It was first published in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine on October 22, 2002.

Tenma Tsukamoto
The ditzy girl in love with Karasuma Oji. Although she's in her second year of high school, she looks younger than her sister, Yakumo. Tenma is very absentminded and not very smart, although she has a VERY active imagination and isn't afraid to act wacky around people.
Harima Kenji
The delinquent who's in love with Tenma. Harima Kenji is a shade wearing, punk punching badass machine, but he also has an unexpected love for Tenma and a talent for manga making.  He also finds himself unable to tell Tenma his feelings. A LOT.
Karasuma Oji
The guy that Tenma is in love with. Karasuma doesn't speak very much, and seems very unemotional. However, he is also very eccentric, often seen with weird items (like a kappa rain getup) or engaging in unusual hobbies.
Yakumo Tsukamoto
Yakumo is a widely admired and sought after first year student, and the sister of Tenma. She can also read the minds of boys who like her. Yakumo is very quiet, and often takes on a motherly role to her older sister.

Eri Sachikawa
A rich and talented half-British girl, and one of Tenma's friends. Eri is very outgoing, and is quite tough on her friends. However, she is still lonely on the inside.
