Scent of Danger! The Seventh Member is Nico Robin! - 危険な香り！七人目はニコ・ロビン！ (Kiken na kaori! Shichininme wa Niko Robin!)

A new member has joined the Straw Hat crew, but it was one that no one saw coming. Nico Robin once worked for their enemy Crocodile, but they did not share the same motives. She had a goal of her own. Why does Luffy have to listen to someone who's willing to just lay down and die?

Summary

Opening Theme-

"Toward the Light (hikari e)" by The Babystars

The Marines under Hina's command were able to sink Bon Clay's duck ship, but the Straw Hat Pirates escaped. Hina is giving her report. One pirate escapes hold and pulls a Marine's sword. He attempts to attack Hina, but she reveals herself to be a Devil Fruit user. She ate the Cage-Cage Fruit. She wraps her arm around the pirate and it becomes a solid iron bar around her would-be attacker. Hina is upset that Smoker sounds happy that the Straw Hats escaped.

Back in the capital of Alabasta, Alubarna; Cobra Nefertari explains to the citizens why Princess Vivi wasn't present for her speech. Outside Alubarna, Chaka stands at Pell's grave, but can't believe his friend is really dead.

Out in the ocean, The Straw Hat Pirates are still on the run from a Marine ship. Princess Vivi watches from the shore as they disappear in the horizon. She climbs on Karoo's back and heads home.

A montage plays showing several of the people across Alabasta. At an isolated hospital a man is being seen off by a doctor who has been caring for him.

Back at the Going Merry, the crew is still being chased by three Marine ships. Zoro, Luffy, and Sanji are ready to fight, but trip over some of the iron bars that the marines have been shooting into the ship. Usopp wanted to save then as supplies.

Luffy tosses them all off the ship and they all land in the Marine ships. Luffy turns to fight, but the ships are now disabled. Back on the Alabasta coast, Vivi heads back home.

Somewhere off the shores of Alabasta, Captain Smoker is sitting on his ship. Tashigi joins him and she notices that Luffy has a new bounty on his Wanted Poster and Zoro has a poster now as well. Luffy's bounty is now 100 Million Barries. Zoro's is at 60 Million. Smoker tells Tashigi that Zoro defeated the man named Daz Bones, the real name of Mr. 1 of Baroque Works.

Back at the Going Merry, the crew is free from pursuit, but most of the crew is depressed. They miss Vivi already. Zoro tells them if they wanted her to stay that badly then they should of taken her with them. They all snap at him for being so cruel. Just as things seem easy. Someone exits from the bowls of the ship. A woman has been hiding all along. It's Miss. All-Sunday, Robin Nico.

The crew panics and readies for an attack. Only Chopper doesn't know who she is. Robin casually walks along the deck and uses her Devil Fruit powers to smack the weapons out of everyone's hands. She takes a seat and asks to join the crew. Only Sanji is excited. She tells Luffy that he must allow her to join to make up for the crime he committed against her.

A flash back plays of several days ago that shows that Luffy was cured of Crocodile's poison thanks to Robin giving Cobra the antidote. Cobra confronts her that he knew she lied to Crocodile about the Poneglyph. Robin admits she never intended on giving Crocodile the weapon Pluton.

Robin was ready to die and give up her dream in those tombs. Luffy grabbed her and forced her out of the tombs. The crime Robin is accusing Luffy of committing is making her live when she wished to die. Once Luffy has heard her reason. He quickly consents. He tells the crew she's nice.

Usopp starts to interview Robin. She tells him that she is an archeologist. She's been following that path she was eight years old, but soon became wanted by the World Government. Mostly hiding out with pirates. Leaving them when things became troubled. Usopp asks her specialty, and she answers, "assassinations".

Nami is tired of all the goofing around. She doesn't trust Robin. She threatens that if Robin tries anything she will toss her overboard. Robin agrees and pulls out some treasure she stole from Crocodile. Nami is now fawning all over Robin.

Sanji appears with dessert for Robin. Usopp and Zoro seem to be the only people now against Robin. Luffy calls for Usopp's attention. When he turns, Luffy with the aide of Robin's power is doing an impression of Chopper. The three of them are laughing. Now, only Zoro is against her.

Robin walks up the bow to where Zoro is. She asks if the crew is always this energetic, and he tells her they are. All she does is smile happily. At the grave of Pell in Alabasta, the shadowed man from the doctor's office is shocked. He says, "It's my grave.".

Points of Interest

• It's revealed this episode that Hina ate the Devil Fruit the Cage-Cage Fruit. Bon Clay escapes caoture, but is recaptured in the Splash Page mini arcs of the manga and eventually sent to Impel Down.
• The FUNimation dub of this episode has Smoker telling Tashigi that Zoro "killed" Daz Bones (Mr. 1). Daz Bones didn't die. He was captured along with Crocodile. Both were eventually sent to Impel Down.
• Vivi, Smoker, and Tashigi wont be seen again until Episode 324.
• Chopper doesn't know who Robin is. He joined the crew after their first meeting with Robin, in Episode 67. Oddly though, Sanji says he doesn't know her, but he was present and commented on her looks.
• She's actually an archeologist. She says her specialty is assassination, but it's unknown if she's ever taken a single life.
• Pell survived the bomb. It's at this point you start to realize that if Koza, Chaka, Robin, and Pell can survive this much. It's next to impossible for someone to die in this series.
