Sazae-San is the longest-running animated TV series in cartoon history for any country. Sazae-san is a family-friendly Sunday night show whose every episode features three short vignettes. The manga, which ran from 1946 to 1974, was published in a newspaper rather than a mangabon.

History of Sazae-San

This long-running anime is based on a comic strip known for being very topical: Sazae-san is a Japanese housewife, and readers watched as she slowly switched from traditional Japanese attire to the western-style clothing that now dominates daily Japanese fashion, as she became a member of a women's liberation movement, and other revolutions. However, the show has no overarching story, revolving primarily around Sazae-san and her family.
