Biography

The Rikudo Sage lived in a time before any of the Naruto characters were born, before any of the great ninja world wars and before the creation of Konoha. Born into a world that only knew constant war, he wanted to use his talents to bring peace to the world. He travelled teaching the the ways of chakra and seals until his time came.

Saving the World

The Rikudo Sage vs. The Juubi

There was a monster unlike any other threatening to wipe out life itself. It was called the Juubi, the 10-tails. The Rikudo Sage a lone took on this beast to stop his murderous rampages. He used a soul sealing jutsu that is still passed down the generations today, sealing a monster within the body of a human.

With that, the Rikudo Sage became the host for the Juubi, the 10 tails Jinchuuriki. For this, he was worshipped like a god. With this influence he continued his teachings and tried to change the world for the better.

However, he knew that as soon as he died, the Juubi would escape and nothing will have changed. With his last act, he separated The Juubi's chakra from its body. He used a jutsu (that Pein later tried to use on Naruto in his 8-tails form) to incase the body of the Juubi and sent it into the sky where it would become the moon. The chakra was then split into nine pieces with the use of the Izanagi jutsu and scattered all over the world. They would become the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9-tails that we know today.

Passing on his Legacy

With the world free from the Juubi, Rikudo Sage had one final task, to choose a successor to carry on his work. Out of the two sons he had, the elder inherited the Sage's eyes, powerful chakra and spiritual energy believed that might was the key to peace. After all, without might, the Sage wouldn't have been able to save the world. The younger, who had the Sage's body, life force and physical energy, believed love was the key to peace. Without love, the Sage's dream of a better world and the protection of everyone in it would be for nothing.

He choose the younger son and with that left the world of the living as his descendants of hatred and love tear each other apart. The descendants of the elder son would one day become the Uchiha Clan and the descendants of the youngerson would one day become the Senju Clan.

The Secrets

The story of the Rikudo Sage has been passed down the generations and still lies in the secret meeting place of the Uchiha Clan. Those with the Sharingan can decipher a small amount of the inscription, Mangekyou Sharingan users a larger amount and those with the Rinnegan, who up until this point has only been Nagato/Pein, can read the entire story in its original form.
