Sachiel

Sachiel's "face".

Sachiel is a humanoid Angel who attacks Tokyo 3 15 years after the second impact. He’s slightly larger than the Evangelion with exaggerated proportions (his arms reach his knees), his face is reminiscent of a bird skull. Sachiel possesses a strong AT field, as he is capable of surviving a N2 attack by the UN forces, though this attack melted 18% of his mass. He develops a second “face” after being hurt.

Battle

Sachiel first appears near the coast of Tokyo 3, he was attacked by the UN force, but the attack failed miserably. With no other option, the UN gives control of the operation to Gendo Ikari, who decides to use the Eva unit 01 to attack the angel. Sachiel proved to be stronger than first time pilot Shinji Ikari as he grabbed unit 01 by it’s head and broke his arm, then shot an energy beam from its palm, impaling Eva-01's head and flinging it against a building.

However, unit 01 went into “berserk” mode and attacked the angel, destroying Sachiel’s face. As the Eva proceeded to attack again, Sachiel used his AT field to stop it, only to be eroded by the Eva’s own AT field. Eva attacked again, nearly destroying Sachiel’s core. Realizing he was on the verge of defeat, Sachiel then jumped onto Eva-01, wrapped itself around it, and self-destructed. However this failed to destroy Unit 01.
