Saaya Agata News

Saaya Agata is a anime/manga character in the Sket Dance franchise
| |

Welcome to the Sket Dance weekly report! I'm Takashichea, and this is the final episode of the anime. 77 weeks had pass or so, and this anime was one of the best in my opinion.

Plot

While Bossun and the Sket Dan are helping the basketball team due to Jogasaki's little accident, Saaya works up the courage to confess to Bossun. Meanwhile, Sojiro thinks Saaya is still in love with Tsubaki.

Can Bossun and the gang help the basketball team and what will happened between Saaya and Bossun?

Watch this show legally on Crunchyroll.

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

Good

Teppei and Jogasaki
Teppei and Jogasaki
  • Being the final episode, everyone except Queccion, Enigman, and a few others appear for the last time.
  • Seeing Teppei and Jogasaki getting along and working together in the basketball team brings closure to the two. In the first episode, Teppei was bullied by Jogasaki, and on the last episode, we get to see their past.
  • With Sojiro's usual misunderstanding of Saaya, Saaya finally confessed to Bossun about her feelings for him.

Bad

Too many characters that add nothing new
Too many characters that add nothing new
  • It's a bit awkward to have the last episode end with Saaya's confession.
  • Faithfulness to the manga: I'm not up to speed with the manga like you guys, and I know that the anime has neglected a few key scenes by messing with the chronological order of the manga's story.
  • It wouldn't hurt to see the basketball or more of Momoka's singing since the filler just padded Saaya's love confession chapter with Saaya's observation of Bossun and the gang working hard.
  • The training and Switch with Otakura and Reiko's scene didn't add anything interesting stuff.

Overall, it was a good episode, and for fans of Saaya, you'll love this one. With so much supporting characters appearing, it's difficult to give them attention. They just serve as padding material for Saaya's confession part. The basketball request is nice to have since it sheds light on two minor characters, but the other scenes lack humor or anything new/interesting to add.

Thanks

Thank you everyone for reading the Sket Dance Weekly report. I hope you enjoyed the series. As for wiki progress, I just need to work with Anime Vice and Sket Dance Wikia to complete the episode wiki pages.

Welcome to the weekly Sket Dance blog! This week's episode is a bit of morbid episode for Sojiro fans because he and Shinba are graduation. The story in Sket Dance is moving on.

Plot

The torch has passed from Sojiro to Sasuke who is new president. Being anxious, Sasuke starts being strict with the rules until Sojiro has a man to man talk with Sasuke. He tells him that he has his friends as his support. Later, a stranger calls Sojiro and threatens to hurt Saaya if Sojiro does not solve the four puzzles that he has set up.

Will Sojiro save his little sister, Saaya?!

Verdict

Beware of Spoilers!

Good

Otsukare "Great Job!"
Otsukare "Great Job!"
  • Despite that Sojiro is a minor character, he helps mold Sasuke and Bossun. He's an unforgettable character with a unique laugh and a sheer devotion to protect his sister. I just like how he thinks his sister is twisting the hearts of Bossun and Sasuke.
  • Bossun's farewell ceremony is pure genius! I loved how he set up Sojiro who showed why he is the president the first place. I hope to see those two battling each other in a game of wits.

Bad

  • There is not much bad things about this episode, but he is a character for comic relief just like the others: Moe and Enigman. Unlike Sojiro, he didn't change much.

Overall, this episode is great, and the puzzles can be confusing. We had a special ending with a slower version, Sekai wa Okujō de Miwataseta, and a compilation of the Kaimei Student Council.

Welcome to weekly Sket Dance report! I couldn't fit the full name of the episode, He's Interested in the Sister and the Brother's Interested in Him. If you guys and gals have a suggestion for the title of this report, feel free to drop a comment. I'm not that creative with titles.

Plot

When Shinba Michiru mentions that Saaya and Sasuke are close, Sojiro thinks they are a couple. He decides to investigate to protect his little sister, and Saaya thinks Sojiro knows about her crush on Bossun.

Will Sojiro find out about Saaya's crush?!

Verdict

Good

The two Tsundere meet each other
The two Tsundere meet each other
  • Ah! It's another hilarious episode that revolves around misunderstandings and romance. I love how this episode show more of Saaya and Sojiro's relationship. For the first time, Sojiro is the funny guy in the show.
  • It's Tsundere day when Saaya and Tsubaki get acquainted with each other. Saaya is very curious about how Tsubaki is getting along with Bossun. I find their interaction interesting and how the two blush a lot.
  • To add to the hysteria in this episode, Tsubaki is oblivious to what's going on between Sojiro, Saaya, and Bossun.

Bad

Show me the parents!
Show me the parents!
  • I wished they show Saaya and Sojiro's parents. I wonder if Saaya's mom looks like Saaya and vice versa for Sojiro's dad. That was pretty much it.

Points of Interest

Mario Kart Reference
Mario Kart Reference
  • Kudos to the guys and gals who caught the Mario Kart reference. I caught it on the second time when I doing wiki work for AV.
  • Strangely enough, Sojiro didn't go "Ka, Ka, Ka!"

Overall, this episode is great and it's not a request based episode. It's a refreshing change while it introduces more of Sojiro and Saaya's relationship. I bet you guys and gals would love the episode if you're a Sojiro fan.

Welcome everyone to the Weekly Sket Dance report! The week is flying fast, and we have another lovely episode of Sket Dance that concludes the awkward yet hysterical School Rhapsody arc.

Plot

While the Sket Dan and their classmates are enjoying their field trip on the ski resort, Bossun and Himeko's body switch is not a secret with Shinzo and Reiko who figure it out on their own. As Himeko goes with Moe for a photoshoot, Switch gets distracted with Reiko and Sasuke, and Saaya asks Bossun (Himeko) to have a chat with her in private.

How would Bossun (Himeko) answer Saaya's question about how Bossun feels about Himeko?

Verdict

Good

Will they stay as friends?
Will they stay as friends?
  • Interestingly, Shinzo and Reiko figure out Himeko and Bossun's little secret while Otakura and Reiko think Switch and Saaya are a pair. Speaking of Switch, Himeko suspects Switch likes Momoka. We got tons of shipping moments.
  • Saaya has an incredible character evolution, and her scene reveals how much she loves Sket Dan and Bossun for helping her.
  • Quest Dance is a funny short. When I saw slime Bossun, I immediately thought Dragon Monster Warrior or Dragon Quest video game.

Bad

  • Over Dramatization: I find the Niigata dropping scene too much.
  • Hit or Miss with Manga fans: Fans of the manga might like the scenes in the manga better because it gets to the point without the extended scenes and Saaya's added flashback. I don't mind Saaya's flashback.

Overall, this episode is great, and everyone would love most of it. Though, I find Biscuit Dance, the best of all the shorts. Quest Dance is good, but the Super Mariko Broken did a better job in parodying video games.

Quest Dance Gallery

Here's a gallery of the characters. Please enjoy.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Weekly Sket Dance report! Now, we're in an arc called School Trip Rhapsody where Bossun and Himeko have switched bodies during a school field trip to Niigata. Who knows what embarrassing things await Bossun and Himeko.

Plot

With Himeko and Bossun's body switched, things get tense when their female classmates asks Himeko (Bossun) to change or to take a bath, and Bossun (Himeko)'s help is making things worse. Meanwhile, Switch is keeping an eye out for Saaya, Sasuke is acting like a cat, and Chuma is making a cure for Bossun and Himeko. Can the two bear each other's burden despite sheer embarrassment?

Don't forget to check out the wiki page and its image gallery!

Verdict

Good

Himeko: I know you'll touch them, right?
Himeko: I know you'll touch them, right?
  • There are tons of hilarious moments in this episode. Tsubaki is now acting like a cat because he took the hypno drug while the cat meowed at him. It explains why Bossun is cat boy in the opening.
  • In Bossun's body, Himeko's answers has make Bossun's reputation go down when she blurts that she wants to see Himeko's body naked in the bath. Saaya gets upset. Plus, I find Bossun's reaction to Himeko's request hilarious when she wants Bossun to touch them.
  • Roman and Reiko are nice surprises with their scenes. Reiko thinks Switch is stalking Saaya while Roman finds out that Bossun and Himeko switched bodies.

Bad

Airing the toilet scene might be a bit too naughty for kids
Airing the toilet scene might be a bit too naughty for kids
  • Hit or Miss: I watched the episode twice and read some comments from fans on Crunchyroll. After Roman breaks the 4th wall, the creator tells the audiences that he cannot air the changing and bathroom scenes because we have a young audience. For me, the changing scene does not seem too bad, but the bathroom scene is hard. Once you read the chapter, you learn that Himeko and Bossun help each use the toilet. If that scene is in the anime, you would hear urinating sounds.
  • Pointless Fan Service: Mimori's bouncing breasts and the Kuramoto's bath scenes seems out of place. I enjoyed Daisy's scene where she rips Tsubaki's cat ears off. Sket Dance is an anime that doesn't need fan service to boost ratings. Fan Service should be for more adult shows.

Overall, the episode is great for everyone, but the missing manga scenes can be a nuisance to those who wished to see it animated. The preview sounds exciting when Himeko asks Bossun what he would say to Saaya's question. I hope Saaya's heart won't break in the next episode.

Plot

Welcome to the Sket Dance's weekly report! Time flies by fast, and we got another Sket Dance episode. For those who are enjoying summer vacation, watching anime can make time feel like it's going by too fast.

Kaimei High School has a special field trip to Niigata, and when the teachers asks how the rooms are split, Chiaki suggests doing a giant rope skipping competition. With the rooms decided, Saaya is wondering about Bossun and Himeko's relationship. On the bus, Himeko gets motion sickness, and Chuuma showcases his drugs. He has Bossun and Tsubaki test the Exchange drug while Hime takes medication for motion sickness. What would happen next?

Verdict

Good

Saaya, our tsundere girl who has changed a lot since Ep. 52
Saaya, our tsundere girl who has changed a lot since Ep. 52
  • A Nice Change:It's not an episode about a request or the misadventures of Sket Dan. It's an episode about a school trip, something different for a change.
  • Saaya's Spotlight: Saaya seems to be the center of attention in this episode. She has become more amiable with her classmates and the Sket Dan. For fans, she got a little cuter.
  • Shipping Questions: Like Jin, Saaya asks about Bossun and Hime's relationship, and Switch is the guy who answers the same question. Bossun and Himeko's relationship have some implications and that leaves room for speculation which is great.

Bad

  • I couldn't find anything that weren't annoying. For people who hate tsunderes, this episode might not be great since there's another tsundere character, Horii Kanako.

Bizarre

Body Switching Time!
Body Switching Time!
  • The opening sequence has some new changes. Instead of Sasuke receiving a picture from Bossun, it's Saaya. She gets picture of Hosuke from Bossun.
  • Chuuma's pill case is full of surprises. I love how they end with a cliffhanger since Bossun and Himeko switched bodies for the whole school field trip.
  • Chiaki is like a vacuum as she eats a whole bag of chips in seconds.

Overall, the episode is funny and enjoyable with some shipping stuff and packed with a nice surprise with Chuuma's inventions.

Overview

Welcome to the weekly Sket Dance report! I'm Taka, a regular wiki editor here at Anime Vice and Sket Dance Wikia. Last week's episode was fun to watch, and it had a wonderful ending where Bossun and Sasuke are warming up to each other as brothers.

Plot

Bossun plays Switch's Sim game on the DSP and gets frustrated over the Tsundere girl. The gang gets a visit from Saaya who acts just like that Tsundere girl from the video game. Saaya requests the Sket Dan to help her get rid of her Tsundere personality. Bossun comes up with a solution to allow Saaya to hang out with them. Later on, Saaya has the Sket Dan and Chiaki rescue an owl they named Hōsuke. They take care of the owl, so it can go back to the wild on its own.

Can Saaya get rid of her Tsundere personality and will Hōsuke get back home?

Verdict

Beware of spoilers!

New Characters In This Episode

Saaya
Saaya
Saaya is our first tsundere girl in Sket Dance! She is a very typical, generic tsundere. For those who hate tsunderes, she might annoy you a bit. If you see this episode, she has a better side.
Hosuke, the mascot of Sket Dance?
Hosuke, the mascot of Sket Dance?
Hosuke is the owl that Saaya, Chiaki, and the Sket Dan brought to their homeroom. He is a cute little owl who gets along with everyone.
Is Hosuke the mascot of Sket Dance?!

Good

Bossun: Can you see how I feel, you insensitive clod?
Bossun: Can you see how I feel, you insensitive clod?
  • Bossun's demonstration of a typical Tsundere girl is spot on. His acting made me laugh because it's so true.
  • Hosuke is a cute owl. I love how Switch frightens them with his facts, and then, Hosuke is surprisingly tame which makes Switch statement go down.
  • Another tsundere in this episode, Sasuke, gets tease by his fellow students. It's a great scene.

Bad

  • For those who don't like fan service or feel that Sket Dance doesn't need it, Saaya's Gainax Bounce would be a turn off. It's happened twice in the series with Mimori doing it in episode 23 where Hime and the girls became so small and cute. Personally, I don't think Sket Dance needs fan service like this. Gintama doesn't have boob bounce physics. Come on Sket Dance!
  • This episode trumps its manga counterpart's story by making them cohesive.

Bizarre

Saaya and Sojiro, what a small world
Saaya and Sojiro, what a small world
  • It's interesting to see how Saaya gets smitten with the oblivious Bossun. Looks like Hime has competition for fans who believe in Bossun x Hime.
  • I was so surprised that Sojiro and Saaya are brother and sister. I don't see much similarities yet.
  • Chiaki is wearing her golden lion brooch from the Genesis episode. It looks good on her.
  • Hosuke and the Sket Dance logo are similar because the Sket Dan logo resembles an owl. You know Hosuke could be Sket Dan's new mascot.

Overall, this episode is excellent and a good start to the second year of Sket Dance. The ending credits looks beautiful with the cherry blossoms. Strangely, Saaya gets the spotlight in this one. It makes wonder if they will do that the same for Koma, a new character coming up in the next episode.

Thanks

Thank you everyone for reading my team's report. Give a round of applause to my teammates here in Anime Vice community. They're awesome people.
