Saaya Agata

Origin

During the School Trip Rhapsody arc (anime), she had a hard time talking to others particularly guys, and she is alone until she met the Sket Dan.

Creation

Saaya Agata is created by Kenta Shinohara, and she has no information regarding any inspiration used to create her. She first appears in Sket Dance chapter 128 of volume 15 and episode 52. She is voiced by Kana Hanazawa in the Japanese version.

Evolution

Appearance

Saaya's prominent features are her twin-tails, her high knee socks, and a large bosom. Unlike a stereotypical tsundere, Saaya does not have a snaggletooth.

Bossun to Hime and Switch

Saaya is a young girl with a very stereotypical tsundere personality which is intended to make fun of that trope in the Sket Dance series. She gets along with girls, but with boys, she abuses them verbally and goes into her tsundere mode. After she meets Bossun and gets to know him, she gets "smitten" by him.

Relationships

Bossun and Saaya Bossun - At first, she acts inhospitable with him. As she spends her time with him and the Sket Dan to get rid of her Tsundere personality, she warms up to Bossun. Hime and Switch notices Saaya is "fawning" over the oblivious Bossun. She smiles more often with Bossun. The evidences that point to this is that Saaya will smile on the way home when she recall Bossun welcoming her back and she blushes when Bossun jokes about how they don't need to get rid of her tsundere personality. The two playfully get into an argument.

Saaya adores Hosuke Hosuke - Saaya finds him with the help of the Sket Dan. She uses Bossun's words against him to convince him to help nurse Hosuke back to health until his leg heals. Despite what Switch tells the Sket Dan and Saaya about how owls are very picky, carnivorous eaters and harbingers of death, Saaya feeds the owl sausages. Hosuke flies back to Bossun and sleeps quickly. Everyone is surprised how tame Hosuke is.

Saaya and Sojiro Sojiro - He is Saaya's older brother. It appears that they get along since Saaya convinces her brother to let the Sket Dan keep Hosuke.

Story Arcs

Twin-tailed Tsundere Girl

Saaya barges into the Sket Dance homeroom, and when Bossun asks what she wants, she tells them to introduce their names. After the introductions, she requests Sket Dan to help her get rid of her tsundere personality. Specifically, she gets hostile with the opposite sex. Bossun struggles to help her when he cannot think of what to say in a scenario. Saaya proposes that he should talk to her as a friend, and Bossun allows her to hang around with them. Later on, Saaya is helping the Sket Dan clean up stuff. Sojiro comes along, and Hime and Bossun are shocked that Saaya is Sojiro's big brother. In the Hosuke arc, Saaya asks the Sket Dan to take care of an owl. Despite what Switch says about owls, Hosuke is surprisingly tame. Switch proposes that they try to release Hosuke at night with Switch and Hime leaving Bossun and Saaya behind to do it. Later that night, Hosuke flies off with Bossun and Saaya all excited. However, Hosuke flies back to them and brings Switch's doll, Madame Familia. It turns out that Hosuke loves to stay with the Sket Dan making Saaya happy.

Anime and Manga Differences

In the anime, the two stories of Saaya and Hosuke's debut are merged. The Sket Dan help Hosuke before finding out that Sojiro is Saaya's big brother.
