Ryuunosuke Fujinami is a girl who has been raised as a boy by her misogynist father. She desperately wants to become more feminine, but finds that she has a lot of trouble, not especially because of her old man...
BackgroundRyuunosuke was born to her father, and raised by him to become the heir to his ramshackle little beach side teashop, the Hamachaya. To this end, he has raised her to become a "man among men", as he believes that only a man can inherit the Hamachaya. Her mother is missing, presumed dead, and nobody has any idea about where she is, or even what she looks like, even her own husband: he destroyed any and all photographs of his wife, or any trace of her existence, save for a Kamen Rider costume she wore as a job at a theme park.
Personality and AbilitiesAs a result, Ryuunosuke is one of the most masculine characters in the series, and one of the toughest, able to fight and defeat many tough guys, and even wild animals. Ironically, Ryuunosuke doesn't like how she has been raised, and constantly tries to find ways to become more feminine, her father trying to thwart her at every turn. She yearns to wear dresses and lingerie, move and talk like she believes real women do, and even sees make-up as a holy grail for herself. However, she's somewhat clumsy at this, as her upbringing has made her personality so intrinsically male that she has trouble even trying to talk like a girl. However, she is extremely driven and stubborn, and never gives up on her quest to become more feminine, even when the odds are against her.
Romantic ConnectionsRyuunosuke is also one of the most desired students at Tomobiki High School, being the target for the affections of not only Ataru Moroboshi, but also several of the male students, despite her masculine personality. Not only that, but she is also the idol of many of the female students as well, often managing to attract an array of fan girls behind her, not to mention making Benten crush on her. She also has occasionally betrayed an attraction to girls, though she often asserts that she likes men.
