Story One:
This episode opens with
Ayane slacking in her duties and the shrine and eating some
senbei crackers. Only now does she notice that the food in the plate belongs to her older sister
Machi.
Ikuto and Ayane are delivering some huge radishes to the Dragon Sea Shrine. It's high in the mountain and has many steps. Ikuto rushes to the top and collapses in exhaustion. Suzu takes the delivery inside to
Chizuru.
As soon as Suzu is gone Machi appears and leaps on Ikuto's legs. Suzu returns and Machi explains she's looking for her younger sister. At this time Ikuto doesn't realize that Machi is Ayane's older sister.
Suzu couldn't find Chizuru, Machi and Ayane's mother; but Machi explains that their mother couldn't hear from the kitchen and is making a confection called
mame-daifuku. This triggers a dramatic reaction in Suzu. She loves mame-daifuku.
Machi offers Suzu twenty daifuku if she can find Ayane for her.
Suzu agreed and a trap is set. Suzu takes a leaf and calls out "Ayane is flat chested.". Ayane appears from the distance and it quite angry at the insult. She notices Ikuto and tries to convince him that they may be small she's not flat.
Ayane realizes that she's fallin into Suzu's trap and they she's been sent out by Machi. Ayane nearly falls into Suzu trap, but is saved by Monjirou. She just happens to drag Ikuto along with her.
Once safe Ayane explains that Suzu becomes like a different person when daifuku is involved. Ikuto tries to convince Ayane to just apologize to her sister and get it over with. To that Ayane tells him that he doesn't know the horrors her sister is capable of.
Suzu appears and cuts them off. Rather then run Ayane makes a deal with Suzu. If Suzu helps her find her sisters weakness. She will give her thirty daifuku. Suzu quickly agrees.
Suzu decides to just go and ask Machi her weakness. While she's off trying the direct approach, Ayane goes around to the others to ask if they might now of Ayane's weakness.
Rin remembers that Machi hates the creature from the South Forest called "Ooushigaeru". Ayane runs off to find one and returns nearly eaten by this giant animal. Rin forgot to mention that they try and eat anyone near them before it was too late.
Chikage and
Yukino are next. Yukino has no idea, but Chikage remembers something. Once when Machi tried playig a prank on her and didn't get the reaction she wanted she stopped.
Ayane tries to image what it would be like if she didn't react to her sisters pranks, but it could also turn out to be something far worse.
Much later Suzu arrives. She claims to know Machi's weakness now. Machi said "If my heart is pierced with a sword or arrow I'll die.". Ayane wonders if that means that anything else wouldn't kill her.
Machi seemed to follow Suzu and is sneaking up behind Ayane. In frustration Ayane shouts out how Machi is an old hag. This hits the mark and Machi has a shattering reaction to being called old. Machi is eighteen years old and still not married. This is a sore spot for her.
Suzu points out that Machi has been present and heard everything. Machi had bribed Suzu with fifty mame-daifuku.
Ayane thinks she finally has the weapon she needs against her sister. Her sensitivity about her age and being unmarried. She dances around Machi and taunts her. Machi summons her shikigami
Gochirano. Things only ended worse for Ayane.
Story Two:
Suzu and Ikuto are walking along and Suzu slips down a cliff. She falls into a Jizou Statue. Suzu is scared she will be cursed. Sealed inside that jizou is a wicked ghost that was sealed away.
He tells her to relax and puts it back together, but he does it wrong. Walking away she asks him to see if there are any bruises on her butt, but he's too embarrassed to look.
They are having dinner that night, bu Suzu is still too scared to eat. Ikuto is sure that ghosts don't exist. In the crack of the door Suzu spots a creepy glowing eye outside. She panic and screams.
The next day Ikuto explains to the other girls what happened. Suzu is still wrapped in her futon and clinging to Ikuto's waist. All the girls try to tempt Ikuto to come sleep at their places.
Ayane teases Suzu that there is a ghost behind her and she panics, flinging Ikuto about. Ayane goes overboard, and Suzu ends up tossing her away out of sheer freight.
That night Suzu is still hiding under her covers. Ayane is outside and moves in to cause more fear in Suzu.
Once Suzu is out and eating properly, Suzu starts to talk with Ikuto about how it's been hard for her to be scared and living alone. When her mother was around she would always find a way to comfort her. Without her mother, being scared just reminded her of how sad she was her mother was gone.
Ayane over hears this and starts to sympathize. She still wants to tease Suzu after the peaks and sees Suzu clinging to Ikuto once he comforts her that she's no longer alone. Aynae reaches for her mask and some unknown person hands her the mask. Ayane screams and Suzu panics form inside.
Ikuto runs out and finds Ayane in her ghost mask. She tries to explain that she saw a ghost. She tries to play the scared maiden, but Suzu screams inside.
Ikuto finds a large white ghost clinging to Suzu. She says she's been possessed.
Ayane tries to use her abilities as a shrine maiden to get rid of the spirit, but it extended a giant tongue and licks her. Ayane is defeated.
The ghost doesn't seem to effect Ikuto and it slivers it's tongue around him. He gets annoyed and punches the spirit out. he steps on him and the ghost admits defeat.
Ikuto is scolding the ghost. Suzu is impressed he's being so forceful with a ghost, but he says there are no ghosts in the world. The ghost is deressed it's existence has been denied.
Ikuto soothes the ghost telling him to play pranks like that and the ghost is happy.
Daybreak comes and the ghost leaves. It flies off and disappears in front of them. Ikuto still doesn't believe it was a ghost. Ayane asks if it had no legs and floated and wasn't a ghost, then what was it? Ikuto says it was a polar bear.
After the ending theme, the ghost came back the next night to play.
