Traditionally aimed at an older audience than shounen, seinen manga are typically much more realistic and mature than their shounen counterparts, but also tend to contain more explicit material.

Shoujo

Literally "girl," this term is used to refer to manga aimed at young to teenage girls.

Are kept apart no matter how much they struggle and endure.

Tragedy

A story or event centered around human misery. Characters in the story face suffering, dread, and destruction.

Tsundere

"Tsundere" is a portmanteau of two Japanese phrases: "tsuntsun" and "deredere" and refers to characters who act hostile to the object of their affections, but secretly (or not-so-secretly) harbor feelings for them.

Unrequited love

A passion or romance for a person where these feelings are not returned by the object of affection. A one-sided love.

Womanizer

A man who uses his charm, money, influence, or good looks for the purposes of having sex. Often with no interest in a long term relationship with the woman he is pursuing.

Yandere

She'll do anything for love, and she'll kill you if you think otherwise.
