Roger Smith is Paradigm City's top negotiator. When we meet Roger he has been hired to recover Dorthy, the daughter of a wealthy man named Soldano, from kidnappers. However, negotiations fail and Roger has no choice but to summon the powerful ancient megadeus, Big O.
By the end of the fight, Roger has recovered Dorthy, but it is the "wrong" Dorthy and Soldano refuses to pay.
