Character Evolution

Lee is very polite and respectful, referring to people in the proper way. He is also very respectful to his opponents and caries a great sense of honor, to the point that his good natured heart stops him from holding grudges, even forgiving Gaara and building a friendship with him, even after he crushed his arm and leg. Lee also believes that all ninja should show respect to there opponents and becomes angry when people fail to do so. He also has the strange personality trait, that by not wanting something, only then will he be able to get it, as seen moments before his battle with Gaara. Lee also has deep feelings for Sakura, asking her to be his girlfriend. Lee has vowed to always protect Sakura, and because of her he has pushed himself even further. At first Sakura does not like this but in time she becomes to care for Lee even bringing him flowers when he was in hospital.

Major Story Arcs

Chunin Exams Arc

Rock Lee is first introduced during the Chunin exams, where upon first sight he seems to be nothing special, until, he is able to stop a kick from Sasuke and a disguised exam proctor. Sasuke is impressed by Lee, and later is challenged by him. Lee wanting to prove himself, by defeating another genius, after easily dispatching Naruto, Lee and Sasuke have a short fight, in which Sasuke is shocked by Lee. The fight is eventually stopped by Guy, just before Lee was about to use the front lotus.

Tsunade gave Lee the choice of undergoing surgery that only she could perform, and that it would heal him, the only downside was that it only carried a 50 percent chance that he will make it, and a 50 percent chance he will die. Rock Lee had a tough choice, give up his life of a ninja, or risk dying. This scared him greatly, but under the, wise words and encouragement of Guy, Lee underwent surgery and survived. This only made him more determined to succeed.

During the retrieval of Sasuke, Lee suggests that Neji goes with, Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji and Kiba, but he himself is upset that he can’t go and help. Lee later explains to Tsunade why he wants to succeed as a ninja, even at the cost of his own life, saying that despite having no ninjutsu or genjutsu he could still become a great ninja. During this arc, Naruto is fighting Kimimaro, of the sound five, and is about to be killed. At the last moment Lee arrives and kicks Kimimaro away, telling Naruto to go on, while he faces Kimimaro.

Kazekage Rescue Arc

In part 2, Tsunade sends team Guy to help support team Kakashi during the rescue of Gaara, who was now Kazekage, and had been taking by the Akatsuki. Team Guy is attacked by Kisame, who traps Lee, Neji and Tenten in a water prison, using clones, while the real Kisame battles Guy. During that fight Guy uses the first six chakra gates, to defeat Kisame. Lee and Tenten were saved by Neji who broke free from his prison and saved the others.

Pain’s invasion

During the invasion of Pain, Team Guy was on a mission, completely unaware of what was happening in Leaf Village. The team were traveling back, when Tenten said they should rest. Lee noticed Guy looking up in the sky, and asked what was wrong. Guy said that the birds were fleeing from the village. Thinking something was wrong the team decided to head to Konoha.  Lee and the rest of his team eventually return to Konoha during the heat of the Naruto/Pain battle. Finding everything in ruins and many people either dead or injured. They also notice Hinata and give her medical treatment.
   

Powers and Abilities

Rock Lee: Taijutsu Master

Taijutsu

Taijutsu are the martial arts of the Naruto Universe. They do not need chakra, but their strength can be enhanced by the use of chakra in the blows. Some taijutsu however do require the use of chakra to be effective.

• Front Lotus: This Taijutsu attack is a very dangerous attack which needs the release of your first Chakra Gate. It is one of the most common attacks employed by Rock Lee, but it has also been used by Might Guy and Kakashi. It is a two part attack, each of which is listed below:

• Shadow of the Dancing Leaf: The shadow of the Dancing leaf is a quick upward kick into an opponent's chin, vaulting them into the air, where the user will then quickly jump up behind them, making any defense by the enemy difficult.

• Pile driver: In this step, the person employing the use of this Jutsu will wrap something around the opponent (in the case of Lee, he uses his arm bandages). The employer of the Jutsu will the wrap their arms around their opponent, and begin spinning them rapidly towards the ground. Right before impact, The employer will then kick off of the opponent, and the Opponent will land head-first into the ground, causing serious harm to the enemy.

• Reverse Lotus: This technique is one of the most dangerous Taijutsu techniques, needing for the opening of at least three chakra gates, which is in itself a feat. The user will then launch their enemy into the air, and following them, delivering a shattering blow which will launch them into the ground, usually being fatal to the opponent. The attack is a gamble, though, since the releasing of so many Chakra Gates at once will leave the user drained and very susceptible to attack.

Jutsu Stats

Drunken Master

Lee is a natural master in drunken fist, a style that only comes naturally to a person, meaning it can’t be learned or taught. Once Lee consumes alcohol, he becomes an unpredictable fighter, which attacks both friend and foe. This mixed with his already incredible taijutsu abilities, makes him an almost impossible opponent to defeat. In this mode, his speed, reflexes greatly increase, and he can even fight while sleeping. Lee has also learned to open the first five chakra gates. These gates are located, on specific points on a person’s chakra system. Once opened, it pushes the body past its natural limits, increasing all physical attributes. It is said that by opening the final gate, the user will reach a power surpassing any Kage but the strain is so great, they will die. 

Eight Gates

They are eight important chakra points in the body. This is what limits the chakra in your body. So if you use it you have limits. After you use this it makes your body weaker. If you uses this you can pass the normal physical standards, but have extreme pain to the body. Rock Lee is one who can open open the 5 gates only for now. Might Guy, the one who even taught Lee about this, can open 6. Kakashi Hatake can only open 1, this is proven because while he was rock climbing it shows in his brain the first gate activating.

• The First Gate: This gate is called the Gate of Opening, this frees the brain limit on all the strains and muscles, giving the user 5 times more speed and strength.
• The Second Gate: This is called the Gate of Rest, you release the brain limit on your stamina, If the user was exhausted and ready to quit in an instant he would want to fight like the fight didn't even start yet.
• The Third Gate: This is called the Gate of Life, this gate is in your spinal cord, and frees the limit to your nervous system through out your body. This makes information faster and builds more stamina. The side-effect of this is your body's skin will turn red because your building your blood-oxygen rate.
• The Fourth Gate: This gate is called the Gate of Pain, It releases the limit oxygen going to your lungs, making more oxygen for the users body to use.The Fifth Gate: This gate is called the Gate of Closing, this frees the amount of chakra you can use in one attack, this allows you to move the speed of sound.
• The Sixth Gate: This gate is called the Gate of Joy, this takes away the amount of fat and protein your body can digest. And releasing useless energy resources giving the person more power and more stamina.
• The Seventh Gate: This gate is called the Gate of Shock, this takes away the amount your body can move, it takes away your dead skin cells to fences and refresh your system making your body more power and more stamina.
• The Eighth Gate: This gate is called the Gate of Death, this is the last gate, it is at the heart and uses your whole body's energy, it makes your heart pump at its fullest speed and passes all the 1-7 gates. It uses every cell in your body. There is side-effect of this called the Big Bang it kills every muscle in the body and the heart. Its a certified death on the user if the Gate of Death is ever opened.
