You’ve always got to admire proactive measures. Hustle. Moxie... dare I say?
I do dare say that, because New York actor Tana Sarnt did some daring of his own. When he heard that a live-action ROBOTECH movie was in the pipeline to be made, he didn’t just sit back on the couch with his thumb up his nose - - he decided to take action! He made a ROBOTECH short film, MIDNIGHT SKY (starring himself as a Veritech pilot), with the hope that it could get him some attention that could possibly parlay into his acting in the real ROBOTECH movie.
Thanks to Angry Asian Man, we’ve got the full thing for you, below. It’s something of a nice follow-up to the story we ran a while back about PROJECT: ARBITER, which got attention as being a live action, World War II-era GUNDAM film. MIDNIGHT SKY is a bit minimalist, but cut the guy some slack - - it’s mighty impressive given the shoe-string budget he probably had to work with. Enjoy it, not only for what it is, but also as a glimpse of what the Robotech movie could be. You won’t even have to use THAT much imagination, anyway, because he’s got some slick “money shots” of the Veritech fighter planes in flight.
Bear witness to it…
