Roar, Chidori! Brother vs. Brother! - 唸れ千鳥吠えろサスケ! (Unare Chidori, Hoero Sasuke!)

Intent on confronting Itachi, Sasuke rushes to the town where Naruto is staying. On the way, tragic memories of his past come flooding back. When the brothers face off after so many years, Sasuke shows how much his hatred has grown, and the Chidori cries for blood.

In the Otafuku Town, Naruto is all alone and just open the door to his hotel to find Itachi Uchiha waiting for him. For a second he almost mistakes him for Sasuke. Kisame appears from behind Itachi, bemused how the Nine-tailed Fox could be sealed within Naruto. To his surprise, Itachi politely asks Naruto to come with him. Elsewhere in town, Sasuke is back on the trail to find Naruto after this first attempt failed. Eranged knowing Itachi is close by.

Years ago when Sasuke was just a small boy and his family was still alive in the Hidden Leaf Village, the Uchiha Clan was strong and a young Sasuke asks Itachi to help him with sharingan jutsu after school. Itachi says he's busy and to ask their father. Sasuke says that Itachi's better. Itachi motions for him to come closer. When he does to gives Sasuke a rough tap on the forehead. He apologizes and says another time. Sasuke notices the distant and sad look in his elder brother's eyes. He gets up to leave and Sasuke says it's always the same thing with him. A jab at the forehead and then apologizing for being busy. Later that day, Sasuke sits at the morning table with his father, Fugaku Uchiha, as his mother, Mikoto Uchiha, prepares food. He asks his father why Itachi avoids him. Figaku can only says that Itachi is a strange person who doesn't like being intimate with anyone.Even as his father, he has a hard time reading him. Mikoto gives Sasuke his boxed lunch and tells him she'll help him with the Shuriken Jutsu later.

Sasuke is walking through the Uchiha district of the village when he's greeted by an older lady. She says she saw Itachi, and comments on what a fine man he's become. That he even graduated the top of his class when he was 7 years-old, and became a chunin at age 10. Sasuke tells her that he's been able to use the Sharingan at age 8. The lady calls Itachi the pride of the Uchiha Clan. She asks how old Sasuke is now. He's taken a bit aback after realizing that he's the same age his brother graduated. The conversation is interrupted when her husband comes in and tells her to stop talking nonsense. He tells Sasuke they are both of the same clan. One day he'll be as amazing as Itachi one day. With his confidence back, he runs off the the Ninja Academy. At school he goes deep into studying and train with shuriken till the sun starts to set.

On that night, Sasuke is only now returning home. In a rush the streets are dark and quiet. He feels a sudden sense of dread overcome him as a shadowy finger watches from above with the Sharingan Eye. When he looks up, no one is there. Only now does he realizes just how quite and dark the district is. There are no lights on and not a sound from anywhere. He turns a corner and finds the street is in ruins. Shuriken, kunai, and blood are covering the walls and road. The bodies of his clan are everywhere. Scared, he runs past all the bodies to his till he stops at the bodies of the husband and wife he talked to before school. Now even more worried, he rushes home. Bursting open the front door, Sasuke tentatively calls out to his parents but there's no answer. He walks carefully through the dark house until he hears something fall from deeper in. He runs to the source but hesitates at opening the door. His legs shake and his breath quickens. He forces his legs to move. When he opens the door, the first sight to greet him in the moonlight is the image of his parents murdered upon the floor. He calls out and runs into the room but stops when someone walks out form the shadows. It's his brother, Itachi. standing there with cold eyes. Sasuke pleads with his brother to know who did this to their parents, and a throwing star grazes his shoulder, drawing blood; and plants in the door behind him. He asks his bother what he's doing but gets no answer.

Once again, Sasuke asks what Itachi is doing. This time he speaks, calling him foolish. Slowly he closes his eyes, he opens them again, and he calls out, "Mangekyo Sharingan". Suddenly, the sky has gone red and the clouds dark. Sasuke can't move but watches as he sees a twisted image of his clan die in front of him. Witnessing the murder by Itachi's hand of all those he's ever known and cared for. Even forcing him to watch as he murdered their parents. Back in reality, Sasuke falls to his knees screaming, and drooling on the floor as he collapses. When he comes to, he says Itachi once more, "Why?"; and he finally gets an answer. Itachi says it was to measure his ability. Sasuke is appalled to learn all this murder was for something such as that. Enraged, Sasuke rushes at Itachi, but is taken down by a single punch to his gut. Looking up, he's so close now to his parent's bodies. Tears fill his eyes, and he's now overcome with terror. He scrambles to his feet and runs for the door screaming. He stumbles into the streets and runs past the bodies as he desperately tries to get away. He cries and screams not to be killed. He finally stops when he sees Itachi in his path. He pleads not to be killed, and Itachi tells him that he's not not worth killing. He goes on to tell him that if he wants to hate him or kill him. To keep living in such an unsightly manner. Keep running and clinging for his life. Back at Otofuku, Sasuke's Sharingan Eyes are filled with rage.

In Naruto's room, Itachi asks if they shall leave, now. Naruto can tell that his not facing anyone average. They're dangerous. He steps out of the room, and Kisame says it would be trouble if Naruto tried getting away. He suggest cutting on a leg. When Itachi doesn't object, Kisame grabs his blade and approaches Naruto.

Out of nowhere, Itachi says, "Long time no see...". Sasuke is in the hallway behind them. Sasuke calls his brother's name and Naruto is shocked to learn this man is an Uchiha. Kisame notices Sasuke's Sharingan and can see a resemblance to Itachi. He asks who the boy is, and Itachi answers that it's his younger brother. Kisame heard all teh Uchia Clan was murdered by his partner. Naruto finally remembers the day Sasuke announced his goal was to kill his brother.

Sasuke attacks Itachi with the Chidori

Sasuke announces that it was just as Itachi told him that day. He charges up the his Chidori jutsu, telling him that he bore that grudge to hate him and grew in his desire to kill him. So much chakra is running to his hand the skin is starting to blister, but he doesn't hold back. Itachi recognizes the technique, and Sasuke charges. A wake of destruction as he tears it across the wall. He lunges for Itachi and there is an explosion. When the dust clears, there is a giant hole in the apartments to the left. Itachi is untouched since at the last second he deflected the Chidori, gripping Sasuke by the wrist. Naruto is shocked to see the Chidori defeated with so little effort. Feeling the need to help, Naruto forms a hand seal. Chakra of the Nine-tails fills the air, and it doesn't escape the eye of Kisame and Itachi. While Itachi looks away, Sasuke tries striking with his other hand, but Itachi quickly snaps his brother's wrist. Naruto tries performing the Summoning Jutsu, Kisame waves his Samehada through the chakra and it disappears. Confused, He tells Naruto that his sword eats chakra. From underneath the bandages the sword moves, as if alive. Not wanting Naruto to try that justu again, he decides to take off Naruto's arms before the legs. Sasuke can only watch from the floor as Kisame raises his giant sword and swings down upon a defenseless Naruto. A sudden puff of smoke envelops Naruto and the blade stops. Behind this fog is a large armored frog. It was the one that blocked the Samehada sword. Jairaiya appears, the woman he was on a date with is unconscious and draped over his shoulder. With a disappointed note he says that they really don't know him very well. He wont be so easily overcome by a woman's allure. That when one gets to his level the women fall over him.

Points of Interest

This episode explains the events of the fate of the Uchiha Clan, and the source of Sasuke's hatred for his brother. Still, the whole story behind these events have yet to be told.
Though they are all from the same graduating class, none of the other known ninja from the Nartuo series appears in the class room scene with Sasuke.
For this episode only, Sasuke's father Fugaku Uchiha, is voiced by Hiroshi Matsumoto. For all following episodes, he's voiced by Kenji Hamada.
