It's sad because every time Ash say that he promise to meet them someday. That "someday" did not occur again. Luckily for Ritchie, he did appear again in Johto but I don't think he appear in Hoenn, Sinnoh, or that new region for Black and White. "Uvoha?" He's luckier than others who only appear once in a season.
