Reinhard von Lohengramm
Reinhard von Lohengramm is the main protagonist of the series, Legend of the Galactic Heroes. The story follows him and his quest to conquer the universe.
Reinhard was born to a poor aristocratic family in the Galactic Empire. His mother died when he was very young, and his father become a recluse after this. The only person left to take care of Reinhard was his older sister, Annerose. Growing up, Reinhard befriended a young red-head male named Seigfried Kirches. As Reinhard grows older, his sister is taken by the emperor of the Galactic Empire--Friedrick IV. Annerose, fearing that harm would befall her younger brother at her refusal, decided to go with Friedrick IV. After the incident of his sister's reluctant leave, Reinhard swore that he would free his sister from the emperor and become powerful enough, so he didn't have to listen to anyone ever again.
Thereafter, Reinhard joined the military, with Kircheis at his side. With his sheer brilliance and pure genius, Reinhard quickly rose through the ranks. He soon gets labeled the "blond bart" and is shunned by most of the galactic empire. However, his leadership abilities are absolute, as shown through his record of victories. In addition, his amazing insight into the workings and intricacies of government paved his fast track to the leader of the Galactic Empire.
With his ship, the Brunhild, Reinhard seeks to conquer the rest of the universe. However, he has many obstacles to overcome--the biggest one being his greatest enemy--Yang Wen-li.
