reports that Real Clothes, a josei manga by Satoru Makimura, is being developed into a live-action drama. The manga revolves around a woman who works in a department store in the furniture department, only to wind up suddenly transferred to the women's clothing department.
Unfortunately for poor Kinue, the saleswoman in question, she wears plain, boring clothes and isn't good with makeup— two important things for anyone working in her department. So of course, her boss decides to show her the ropes.
This isn't the first time Real Clothes has been adapted for live-action, as a TV special aired last year. It's unclear if the new adaptation will feature the same cast-- including popular actress Karina as the lead –but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
The manga also won an Excellence Prize at this year's Japan Media Arts Festival. Maybe we should start hoping for a license? (It's Shogakukan, so VIZ, I'm lookin' at you!)
