Seven teenagers learn to deal with each other as they are trapped in the same prison block together.
The year is 1955, the place is a depressed post-war Japan. A bus pulls up to the Shio Reformatory and several young men step off the bus. After a grueling "physical exam," the young men find themselves incarcerated with one other intimidating man who is single-handedly able to beat them all down. After the initial hostilities, the young men realize that they have to learn to work together with each other if they hope to survive the horrors of this prison, and possibly even escape some day.
